That is to say, the prototype examines all the possible cases and in order to make the decision, for the energy management system, which generator to use at a particular time depending from the result of negotiation with market terms using agent technologies between the energy managing system and the participating generator. The purpose of this study was to investigate the models of negotiation, the Software Agents with platforms as the JADE, as well as the requirements of the system and to develop a prototype and evaluate it.

The purpose of this paper is to measure the natural assets and to calculate the environmental benefits, as well as, the associated costs, so as to include all the above in the financial statements (balance sheet and profit & loss account). It is crucial to point out that the installation of a Green Accounting Information System requires evaluation of human assets (students and professors), availability of space, value the benefits, as well as, estimate the necessary installation costs. Literature suggests that although many information systems of environmental management have been developed, no significant progress was made on the growth of green accounting information systems due to the inherent difficulty for the monetary expression of environmental accumulated costs and related natural resources.

Prior HCI research suggests that mouse and keyboard monitoring may provide a more complete picture of user behavior under high cognitive loads like decision making and developing tasks. In this exploratory study we investigate the potential correlation between mouse behavioral patterns or keystroke dynamics and a set of End-User Development (EUD) behavioral attributes. We conduct a field test on 30 end-users interacting with a modern web-based EUD tool for the construction of simple web forms. Our findings reveal the existence of several significant correlations between end-users' behavioral attributes and mouse pattern metrics or keystroke dynamics during the development process. Mouse pattern metrics like random and straight movements, mouse hovers, etc., can be associated with perceived ease use, perceived usefulness, self-efficacy, willingness to learn or risk-perception. Similarly, some keystroke dynamics like key press speed and down-to-down time can be associated with perceived ease of use or self-efficacy. The findings of this work show a new interesting research direction and may motivate the EUD research community to study further the end-users' mouse and keyboard behavior in today's web-based EUD systems. Keywords End-User Development (EUD); mouse tracking; mouse behavioral patterns; keystroke dynamics; end-user behavior Highlights A mouse and keyboard tracking exploratory study is conducted on a EUD environment. Common mouse behavioral patterns are divided in different sets of mouse metrics. The aim is to diagnose end-users' behavioral states from mouse and keyboard input. Mouse pattern metrics are correlated to all measured EUD behavioral attributes. Some keystroke metrics are correlated to self-efficacy and perceived ease of use.

The projects VIVE, BIDSAVER, and ALIVE are only some of which have run under the auspices of the European Commission Programme for Information Society Technologies (IST). This chapter presents the BIDSAVER project that ran between 1999 and 2002, and aimed at delivering technologies and methodologies that support the creation and operation of virtual enterprises.

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research has shown significant gender differences while users interact with EUD systems. However, most of this research focuses on desktop spreadsheet environments. In this paper we examine the potential gender differences in perception and acceptance in modern web-based EUD environments. We step on previous gender research in the fields of EUD and Technology Acceptance to concentrate a set of appropriate items and examine a set of related hypotheses. To check out our research hypotheses we have conducted a field test using a prototype web-based EUD tool based on a natural language approach (named 'simple talking'), to assist end-users in creating databasedriven mobile applications. The results of the field test show significant gender differences in Risk-Perception and Perceived-Ease of Use. As it was predicted, male users perceived significantly higher ease of use and female users perceived significantly higher risk. Gender differences also exist in the correlations between different pairs of perception and acceptance items. Keywords End-user development (EUD). Gender in human computer interaction (GenderHCI). Perceived-ease of use. Perceived-usefulness. Risk-perception. Selfefficacy

To this end, we present the main end-user development (EUD) approaches highlighting user engagement, usability and user experience (UX) design principles. We examine aspects related to the triptych of efficiency, efficacy, satisfaction of all user development and learning activities. To this direction, we offer suggestions on how such a EUD approach for an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) setting can form part of a maker space for providing sustainable and hands-on learning experiences.

The aim is to diagnose acceptance and perception during the user-EUD interaction. This is the first attempt of integrating eye tracking in EUD research. Metrics are 'borrowed' from UX eye research and existing mouse behavioral patterns. Eye tracking metrics are correlated to user perception and acceptance.

Based on a review of the most prominent EUD-related behavioral Human Computer Interaction (HCI) theories, and the influence of gender on them, it attempts to classify all the gender related behavioral attributes influencing the end-users' performance. Then, it theoretically selects a subset of these attributes, namely Risk-Perception, Usefulness-Perception, Learning Willingness, Ease-of-Use-Perception, and Self-Efficacy, presents an example application and conducts a basic evaluation testing. The proposed attributes (their initials form the word RULES) can form the basis for the design of EUD-oriented user modeling techniques for gender-neutral self-adaptive software EUD environments.
