Nicholas Stanton

Im a Reno, Nevada native enthralled by all things cultural, political, and economic, especially critical theory. I got my B.A. in Theatre with a double minor in English Literature and Religious Studies, Magna Cum Laude. My Honors Undergraduate Thesis project was titled "Spheres of Performance: The Aesthetic, Sociopolitical, and Anthropological Implications of Contemporary Egyptian Theatre."

I went on to get my M.A. in English Literature with emphasis on later American Literature, Critical Theory, and Rhetoric.

I am currently on hiatus, taking a much needed break before entering a doctorate program. As of right now, I plan on applying to UC Berkeley's Rhetoric program, UC Irvine's Literature program, and Pitt's Literature Program.

I am also qualified to teach freshman English (Composition) at the college level and find this to be the most rewarding aspect of academia. My teaching philosophy blends the approaches of critical pedagogy and cultural studies and I find it to be a potent and successful method.
