It will discuss the Brief History of Ceramic in Indonesia, Indonesia Ceramic Art Today, and Future Prediction of Indonesia Ceramic Art. We have to admit that Indonesia’s ceramic was influenced by the West, who separated the craft and art into low art and high art. The purpose of this article, is not to discuss the detail about such dichotomy, but this article merely to describe the development of Ceramic Art in Indonesia. The research methodology is literature research and field observation trough visiting some artists studio and visited the exhibition. As the observation and research, author found, that Indonesia Ceramic Art is very well developed. We can see from the continuity of many ceramic art exhibition held in Indonesia. Artikel ini membahas kinerja lembaga pendidikan, khususnya perguruan tinggi swasta yang masih men... more Artikel ini membahas kinerja lembaga pendidikan, khususnya perguruan tinggi swasta yang masih mengutamakan sistem akreditasi sebagai sarana untuk menarik minat peserta didik; peran, fungsi, dan efektifitas badan akreditasi nasional dalam memantau perguruan tinggi; serta mentalitas para pelaku pendidikan dalam perguruan tinggi yang akan mempengaruhi kualitas keilmuan kepada peserta didik. Salah satu indikator kemajuan suatu bangsa dapat dilihat dari perkembangan pendidikannya, yang dinilai dari kualitas sistem pendidikan, kemudahan memperoleh pendidikan, dan tersedianya lembaga pendidikan yang berkualitas. Kualitas lembaga pendidikan yang dimaksud bukanlah sekedar dilihat dari status akreditasinya semata, namun dilihat dari tersedianya para pendidik profesional yang berkontribusi pada bidang keilmuan untuk negara bahkan dunia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan observasi. Hasil kajian menunjukan Pendidikan di Indonesia, yang semakin berkembang diikuti dengan pendirian perguruan tinggi swasta harus diimbangi dengan kualitas para pendidik yang mumpuni.

Perempuan sering dikaitkan sebagai makhluk yang kompleks, k... more (English text available upon request) Perempuan sering dikaitkan sebagai makhluk yang kompleks, karena nyatanya perempuan memang lebih sering menjadi pembicaraan dalam kaitannya dengan permasalahan sosial. Sejak kesempatan bagi perempuan untuk berkarya semakin terbuka, maka perempuan mulai tampil dalam arena seni. Penyampaian gagasan oleh seniman perempuan tentunya berbeda dengan seniman laki-laki. Makalah ini mengkaji karya seniman perempuan, dengan contoh seniman Hung Liu, yang mengangkat masalah sosial dengan latar belakang tradisi budaya China di masa lalu dengan pendekatan teori visual culture terutama dalam kaitannya dengan gaze. Penulis memperoleh data-data dari internet dan tidak melakukan obserbasi atau wawancara langsung ke objek yang diteliti. Berdasarkan temuan dan analisa, dapat disimpulkan bahwa seniman Hung Liu terpengaruh oleh pendidikan Barat baik dalam penyampaian gagasan maupun eksekusi karya.

An artist will produced an artwork and a designer will produced a designed to be executed into functional products. A qualified artist or designer will have the ability to create artworks with strong identity and original. Indonesia is called as Nusantara, because Indonesia is an archipelago country, that spread from Sumatera to Papua. Nusantara which is rich in its tradition and culture, has inspired many artists and designers to create artwork based on the tradition. Some artists treated tradition as a valuable art, not something ancient or out-of-date. They executed their contemporary artwork based on tradition. This paper, will share the strong capability of tradition in supporting the contemporary art and its ability to introduce a nation and a county’s identity to global world. Two artists were selected as references, they are the late Hendrawan Ryanto (1959 – 2004) and F.Widayanto (1953). The reason to choose both artists, because they were graduated from the same university and same faculty, and their artworks were tradition based, but very different in execution.
