Methanolic and hexane extracts of turmeric (Rhizome) showed varying degrees of lethality to M. incognita at different concentrations under in vitro conditions. Per cent larval mortality and inhibition of egg hatching were found to be directly proportional to the concentration of extracts and exposure period. In in vivo experiments, growth parameters and nematode reproduction factors (number of galls/ plant, number of egg masses/plant and final nematode population in soil) were evaluated post-treatment with chopped leaves of botanicals. The study showed that the treatment improved plant growth...

Stock market is a complex, non-linear and non-stationary system with many governing factors and noise. Some of these factors can be quantified and modeled, whereas some factors possess a random walk behavior making the process of forecasting challenging. Various statistical methods, machine learning, and deep learning techniques are prevalent in stock market forecasting. Recently, there has been a paradigm shift towards hybrid models, showing some promising results. In this paper, we propose a technique that combines a recently proposed deep learning architecture N-BEATS with wavelet transformation for improved forecasting of future prices of stock market indices. This work uses daily time series data from five stock market indices, namely NIFTY 50, Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), Nikkei 225, BSE SENSEX, and Hang Seng Index (HSI), for the experimental studie...

However, the irregular and noisy behavior in the observed data makes it difficult to achieve better forecasting accuracy. To handle this, we propose a new model, named singular spectrum analysis-long short-term memory (SSA-LSTM). SSA is a signal processing technique used to eliminate the noisy components of a skewed load series. LSTM model uses the outcome of SSA to forecast the final load. We have used five publicly available datasets from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) repository to assess the performance of the proposed model. The proposed model has superior forecasting accuracy compared to other existing state-of-the-art methods [persistence, autoregressive (AR), AR-exogenous, ARMAexogenous (ARMAX), support vector regression (SVR), random forest (RF), artificial neural network (ANN), deep belief network (DBN), empirical mode decomposition (EMD-SVR), EMD-ANN, ensemble DBN, and dynamic mode decomposition (DMD)] for half-hourly and one day ahead load forecasting using RMSE and MAPE error metrics.

The voltage is maintained at PCC with the help of STATCOM designed for reactive power compensation for better performance. The generation of both power plant real and reactive powers is connected at PCC. The STATCOM controller has been used for controlling the reactive power, through PI controller to maintain the voltage at PCC in the wind connected power system. To observe the effect of STATCOM on voltage profile of various nodes of the system, the proposed system is verified through MATLAB/ SIMULINK.

The dynamical transition is observed to occur between the periodically modulated superfluid phase and the superfluid droplets phase. The parameter domains and conditions leading to such a dynamical phase transition are identified. It is observed that such a transition in the system owes its origin to the collective photon dynamics rather than thermal or quantum effects.

There are three main types of failures Biologic failure, mechanical failure and aesthetic failure. Clinical failure may occur during or after xed prosthodontic treatment procedure. Failure and complications associated with xed prostheses include, but not limited to the loss of retention, caries, endodontic complications, periodontal disease, tooth fracture or porcelain fracture, and unsatisfactory esthetics of the prosthesis. When a crown or Fixed Partial Introduction Dentures (FPD) fails, the primary question is whether the problem can be easily resolved, or requires extensive rehabilitation and reconstruction. A mild failure may be considered one that is generally...

Methods: In this prospective observational study conducted over one year period included extramural neonates only. Respiratory and hemodynamic status of all neonates at admission was assessed and outcome was evaluated. Results: At admission 80 % of neonates were hypothermic, hypoxic – 37 %, prolonged capillary lling time (CFT)- 85% and hypoglycemic – 28 %. Sepsis was the most common nal diagnosis followed by birth asphyxia and neonatal jaundice. 39% of neonates had poor outcome whereas 61% had good outcome. Culture positivity was 40 % for at risk neonates for sepsis. Among these, most common organism was klebsiella pneumoniae followed by Staph aureus. Conclusion: This prospective study reveals the need of better neonatal transport facility from labor room to intensive care unit ...

Subjects and Methods: The present study was conducted on 84 patients of ASA grade I and II for surgery. Patients were divided into 2 groups of 42 each. Group I patients were given ProSeal laryngeal mask airway and group II were given Air-Q intubating laryngeal airway. All the devices were checked, prepared, inserted and secured according to the corresponding manufacturer's recommendations. Results: The mean airway time in group I was 17.2 seconds and in group II was 18.4 seconds, airway seal pressure (cm H2O) in group I was 25.3 and in group II was 23.1, use of jaw thrust was 6 in group I and 9 in group II, number of attempts were 1 in each group. The difference was non-significant (P> 0.05). Conclusion: Both PLMA and AQB show similar efficacy in maintaining ventilation and oxygenation, during procedures.
