Especially in developing countries, solar-powered irrigation is becoming more popular as a response to the growing energy and environmental issues associated with agriculture systems. The existing study used data from 1080 wheat farmers in Balochistan, Pakistan, to investigate the impact of solar-powered irrigation system (SPIS) usage on the technical efficiency (TE) of wheat production. The TE of wheat production is estimated using a stochastic frontier production function, and the potential self-selectivity bias is addressed using an endogenous switching regression model. The findings indicated that 13.7% of the wheat cultivators assessed used SPISs to produce their crops. Using an endogenous switching regression model shows that SPIS usage increases the TE of wheat growers by 6.657%, after controlling for self-selection bias. While using SPISs, whe...

Pakistan is one of the countries most affected by CC due to the country’s vulnerability to catastrophic events and limited ability to adapt. Assessing existing activities for adaptation to CC at the farm level is critical to understanding their success and recommending additional government measures. This study analyzes possible farming practice modifications that Pakistani farmers may adopt to reduce the loss of agricultural output due to the rising prevalence of dangerous weather events by CC. Data for the current research were gathered from 432 wheat farmers in rural Pakistan. This article investigates many factors that impact farmers’ decisions to CC adaptation in crop production utilizing binary logit (BL) and multivariate probit (MVP) models. Gender, education level, farming experience, farm size, level of damage, access to finance, and training participation are char...

Agricultural production and advancement is significantly affected by climate change (CC), especia... more Agricultural production and advancement is significantly affected by climate change (CC), especially in drought-prone regions where farmers depend primarily on rainfall for their livelihoods. One of the main threats to the agricultural sector for decades has been global warming, and the sector is particularly susceptible to climatic circumstances. CC has become a crucial concern impeding sustainable development due to rapid changes in urbanization, industry, and agricultural systems. Food security, which is a worldwide concern, is another essential component connected to a country’s economy and people’s livelihoods. In view of these adverse consequences, the main objective of this study was to examine the impact of CC and food security on sustainable agricultural development in Pakistan. The study area was selected from twenty-four districts in two provinces of Pakistan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan). Collectively, the current research offers possible solutions to the dilemmas...

For this purpose, we made venture capital index using principal component analysis methodology to test the composite impact of venture capital impact on innovation. We constructed our sample of 41 countries on the basis of venture capital fundraising from 2006 to 2016. First, we empirically tested index individual component, for which we used ordinary least square regression with robust standard error. In the second stage, we made VC index using principal component analysis methodology to analyze the composite effect of VC on patents generation. Empirical results show strong significant venture capital investment impact on patents generations. Overall, our findings suggest that venture capital investment significantly spur innovation, when we analyzed the individual factors of the index as well as compositely. These results encourage governments and policy makers to promote innovation through facilitating venture ...

Herein, time-fractional coupled Burger’s model is analyzed. Some solitary wave solutions, containing one-soliton, two-soliton, three-soliton and [Formula: see text]-soliton, have been fetched using a modified sort of the well-known exp-function approach. Dominant effects of the fractional parameters have been illustrated and it is noted that the higher values of the fractional number cause a significant impact on the wave propagation. The one wave pattern for the [Formula: see text]-component is quite identical, while an increase in the fractional parameter is producing an increment in the wave structure while a similar but opposite pattern is noted for the [Formula: see text]-component. An increment in the wave structure is noted for higher values of the time-fractional parameter f...

The outcomes of panel models reveal that more (less) financially constrained firms to have smaller (longer) net trade cycle. Moreover, the study found an inverted U-shaped relationship between investment in working capital and firm performance. Based on the empirical results of this study it is suggested that financial managers should try to maintain an optimal level of working capital to optimize the profit performance of the firm, as an investment in working capital above that optimal point will negatively affect the corporate profitability. Keywords : Working Capital, Firm Performance, Financial Constraints, Pakistan.

The effects of HIV on the growing brain have generated interest among researchers in this field. Deficits arising during this crucial phase of neuromaturation due to HIV infection need to be assessed and addressed. Neurological soft signs (NSSs) can act as a proxy marker for underlying neuropsychological deficits. The present study aims to study the NSSs in pediatric patients with HIV and compare with healthy controls (HCs). Forty-eight children aged between 6 and 16 years diagnosed with HIV were selected by purposive sampling, and the Physical and Neurological Examination of Soft Signs (PANESS) scale was applied. Fifty children matched by age and sex were recruited from a nearby school, and the PANESS scale was applied. Children were divided into age- and gender-specific groups. The outcome scores of cases and controls groups were compared. Males and females aged 13-16 years with HIV showed more s...

After staying dormant until 2000, the telecom sector recorded supernormal growth in the past decade, thanks largely to liberalization of the sector since 2003. Today, the sector is highly competitive, with private players vying for market share by aggressively cutting tariffs-in fact, this has been the trend for five years now.The reason for which Saudi Arabia is so attractive to all the telecom operators is the combination of its population size and wealth. The growing importance of this sector has attracted the attention of the Researchers in the present research paper is to make an empirical study of private sector telecom industry regarding the HRD practices. The case study selected by the Researchers is of Mobily Telecom Company. A survey questionnaire has been constructed and administered among the employees of Mobily at managerial and non-managerial level from the selected districts of regions of Saudi Arabia. The Sample of the study has been undertaken of 85 employees. The study brings out the existing picture of HRD practices in Private Sector Telecom Company and offers suggestions to improve the pace of such practices wherever they need improvement.
