First problems from past experiences with literature are discussed and theoretical insights proposed which will bring to fore the need for a change in pedagogical orientations. Next the idea of "experiencing poetry" is flashed out by addressing the knotty problems literature teaching has been faced with. Step-by-step instructional procedures are discussed together with their corresponding pedagogical considerations. Some guiding pedagogical principles are then proposed and discussed to complete the workshop. From this exploratory study, it is evident that students learned from one another in the context of sharing of literary experiences and from observing how the literature instructor as a more knowledgeable member of the culture demonstrated the way he experienced the poem he was reading. More specifically, from experiencing poetry and sharing about what they like from what they experience and enjoy, students learn to reflect critically on what they get from reading.

The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design. Participants in this study were 74 third-year students of one of the public elementary schools. The instruments were the reading skill test and rubric instruments to assess narrative essay writing skills. Data were analysed through the average score and hypothesis test. The average scores of reading and writing in the experimental class were higher than the control class. Then, there is a significant influence of the social constructivism-based literacy learning environment model and regular learning on students' literacy skills. Moreover, there is a significant difference between the influence of learning in the experimental and control classes. It can be concluded that a social constructivism-based literacy learning environment model can enhance students' literacy skills.

To collect the data, a questionnaire adapted from Murase (2009) was distributed to fourty first-year undergraduate students of a university in Bandung and interview was addressed to nine undergraduate learners. The findings showed that all dimensions of learner autonomy are found and each dimension is reflected in various degrees. The degree of technical and political dimensions of learner autonomy is in respect not as satisfactory as expected. However, the degree of learner autonomy in the psychological and socio-cultural dimension is high enough. This means that learners are mostly autonomous in terms of that they learn a language on their own outside the classroom without the aid of a lecturer and they have a capacity for critical reflection, decision-making, and independent action in their learning. There are four major aspects related to situations under which learners learn autonomously, including the subject matter, the lecturer, the time, and the challenging task. This means that learners learn autonomously when they are interested in a certain subject, aware of the importance of the subject, and realize that relying on the classroom session is not enough. Besides, they learn autonomously when the lecturers engage them actively in the classroom, give feedback positively, and motivate them. Most learners learn autonomously when they have free time and get a challenging task such as movie project. It is recommended for further research to investigate learner autonomy in a more specific context of class, for example learner autonomy in a speaking class, in order to get more in-depth data.

However, due to instructors' lack of English proficiency, English instruction at the secondary level shows a significant failure. Today, amid the COVID-19 epidemic, which has pushed remote education, the challenge of teaching English as a foreign language in Indonesian secondary schools becomes more severe. Due to in-service teachers' lack of English proficiency and ICT abilities, future Indonesian English teachers' pre-service education at the secondary level should be revisited. This qualitative study investigates the extent to which teacher education programs (PPG) equip prospective EFL instructors to use Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge (TPACK) in their classroom instruction. It also explores the viewpoints of pre-service EFL teachers (student teachers) and teacher educators on EFL pre-service teacher education programs at several Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in West Java, Indonesia.

It employed a descriptive qualitative research method in a class consisting of 35 students. The data were collected from videotaped observations, interviews with participant representatives, and questionnaires administered to all participants. The project-based instruction (PBL) was implemented in five sessions, with videos uploaded to YouTube as the final product. The paper revealed that the students completed the project satisfactorily and showed their positive attitudes towards the assigned project. Moreover, they claimed that learning using PBL was challenging, motivating, engaging, enhancing their English, and increasing their creativity. During the videomaking phase, some problems were encountered; however, they considered them as challenges to become better at using English. To conclude, it is advisable for EFL teachers to implement PBL integrating ICT. Additionally, at the end of the research, some recommendations for future similar studies are proposed.

As a result, there has been a significant increase in research publications on multimodal-based teaching practices and the impacts of such instructional practices on students' learning. This study attempts to synthesize and critically analyze the existing empirical research on multimodal pedagogy in EFL classroom contexts. The descriptive statistics characterizing the studies reviewed (e.g., the research designs, participant characteristics, settings) were presented along with the qualitative content analysis results containing the emerging themes which sequentially arranged according to its prevalence. The research articles reviewed in this study were based on the following inclusive criteria: (1) peer-reviewed studies, (2) studies concerned with multimodal pedagogy in EFL contexts, and (3) published within the last 6 years. The search for these articles was conducted electronically using search engine databases (e.g., ERIC, Google Scholars) and some reputable journal websites (e.g., tanfonline.com, link.springer.com). Across the corpus of 40 studies, findings revealed that the most preferred study design for multimodal research was case studies conducted in school settings involving both teachers and students as participants. This analytical review also revealed five prevalent themes of findings informing the possibilities and complexities of pedagogical benefits and constraints of multimodal pedagogy. The results of this study could hopefully provide insights on what has been done thus far and showcase implications for research and practice.

The model is developed by infusing a teaching approach to critical literacy namely the Four Resources (FRF) into a prominent reading strategy i.e. Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R). The FRF balances conventional and critical literacy which theoretically has the potential to shift the conventional practice of Reading class. Meanwhile, SQ3R was opted for its prominence and ease of independent use for both teacher and students. SQ3R provides a clear syntax which the Four Resources is lacking. The prototype was tried out in a tertiary EFL Reading class and involved 40 students with differing CL baselines. Data were collected by means of observation, questionnaire, and interview. The paper concludes that the developed prototype for CL teaching was not only applicable in a conventional Reading class but it also allowed independent use by the students. However, engagement in the CL was inconsistent thus finding on its effectiveness was inconclusive. The study implies that mindful material selection, amount and intensity of practice are required for future use of the prototype.
