Due to easy internet availability globally, a large amount of data is being generated from social networking websites, news websites and blog websites. Manual summarization is time consuming, and it is difficult to read and summarize a large amount of content. Automatic text summarization is the solution to deal with this problem. This study proposed two automatic text summarization models which are Genetic Algorithm with Hierarchical Clustering (GA-HC) and Particle Swarm Optimization with Hierarchical Clustering (PSO-HC). The proposed models use a word embedding model with Hierarchal Clustering Algorithm to group sentences conveying almost same meaning. Modified GA and adaptive PSO based sentence ranking models are proposed for text summary in news text documents. Simulations are conducted and compared with other understudied algorithms to evaluate the p...

Nevertheless, most of the natural dyes exhibited weak interaction between fabric and natural dye, which resulted in poor shade depth and durability problems for cotton fabric. This research work is an endeavor to apply natural dyes in combination with eco-friendly cross-linker to enhance the durability and performance of natural dyes. Moreover, pH of the dyeing solution imparted significant effect on color characteristics of fabrics dyed with acacia dye.

Toxic, high formaldehyde cross-linker treated fabric exhibited superior crease recovery properties than the alternatives. Incorporation of softeners significantly enhanced the easy care performance of the environment friendly crosslinkers. In addition, incorporation of softeners with cross-linkers also significantly improved the tear strength retention, and softness of the fabric which was reflected by reduced inter yarn friction.

An application of this distribution to model the proportion of heating using the heating degree day and the cooling degree day data in the State of Alabama for Appalachian Mountain is provided. Using intensive computations based on R-program, tabulation of some quantiles associated with this particular distribution of proportion is also provided, which is quite useful in estimating the proportion of energy required to heat a building.

Application of these dyes, however, causes high and undesirable levels of dissolved solids and oxygen demand in the effluent. This is due to the use of considerable quantities of inorganic salt and alkali to ensure efficient utilisation and fixation of the reactive dyes. Dye that is unfixed on cotton also contributes to effluent pollution. There are two approaches to deal with the effluent problem: 1. alternative dyeing techniques and technology, 2. effluent treatment after dyeing. The effluent treatment requires additional capital investment and high treatment and maintenance costs. Therefore, the first approach is always preferable. There have been a number of options developed to overcome the polluted effluent problem of dyeing cotton fabric with reactive dyes. This paper reviews the options to improve sustainability of the dyeing process through development of reactive dyes, modification of dyeing machinery and processes, chemical modification of cotton fibre prior to dyeing, use of biodegradable organic compounds in dyebath formulation, and effluent treatment processes. The paper highlights the significance and limitations of these ways of improving sustainability in reactive dyeing, and proposes the areas for further improvements.

As the device would operate in hazardous areas, it should not consume an excessive amount of electrical power. Hence, the paper investigates the suitable oil-water concentrations (10-90% concentrations in step of 10%) which would lead to the fastest separation while consuming the minimum amount of power. Extensive experiments which were conducted using a powerful 20kHz ultrasonic sensor were indicative with good repeatability that the emulsion layer with less water content (i.e. 10 to 40% water-cut) gets significantly faster separation. The experimental study was then validated through a set of finite element-based simulations for different ratios of oil water emulsions. This led to suggest a new feasible de-emulsifying device which consists of a one dimensional array of ultrasonic sensors which are vertically distributed to emit ultrasonic waves in horizontal direction and in a time multiplexed manner.

Thermal resistance is one of the key aspects of thermo-physiological comfort of knitted clothes. ... more Thermal resistance is one of the key aspects of thermo-physiological comfort of knitted clothes. The aim of this study was to develop statistical models for predicting the thermal resistance of polyester/cotton blended interlock knitted fabrics. Fabric samples were knitted at three different tightness levels, with yarns of three different linear densities each with three different polyester/cotton blend ratios. Based on thermal resistance results of the knitted samples, three different statistical models were developed comprising different input variables as predictors. The validation results showed that the thermal resistance of polyester/cotton interlock fabrics could be predicted using the developed statistical models with an average percentage error of 4e8%. It could be concluded from the sensitivity analysis that the most influential factor affecting the thermal resistance was fabric stitch length, followed by yarn specific heat and fabric areal density.

An appreciation of how instability along compound jets can lead to breakup and droplet formation is thus critical in many fields in science and engineering. In this paper, we perform a theoretical analysis to examine the instability of an axisymmetric inviscid compound liquid jet which falls vertically under the influence of gravity. We use a long-wavelength, slender-jet asymptotic expansion to reduce the governing equations of the problem into a set of one-dimensional partial differential equations, which describe the evolution of the leading-order axial velocity of the jet as well as the radii of both the inner and the outer interfaces. We first determine the steady-state solutions of the one-dimensional model equations and then we perform a linear temporal instability analysis to obtain a dispersion relation, which gives us useful information about the maximum growth rate and the maximum wavenumber of the imposed wave-like disturbance. We use our results to estimate the location and qualitative nature of breakup and then compare our results with numerical simulations.

Thread consumption for the lock stitch (class 301) can be calculated by using its geometrical shape. This paper aims to develop a geometrical model to calculate the thread consumption for lock-stitch (class 301). Based on the basic geometry of lock stitch, a model has been proposed. The model is derived mathematically taking into account different variables; stitch length, stitch density, material thickness and interlacing. Finally, the model was verified for 19 samples by comparing actual thread consumption with predicted thread consumption. The proposed model predicts the thread consumption with 97% accuracy. Sensitivity analysis is also performed to determine the significant influencing factor affecting the thread consumption. The proposed model can predict the thread consumption precisely for 301 Lock-stitch. Therefore this model is useful for the apparel industry.

Cross-linkers are typically used after dyeing of the cotton to overcome the wrinkling problem. In this research performance of the toxic formaldehyde based cross-linker DMDHEU, and its alternative, non-formaldehyde based cross-linker BTCA was assessed on various dyed fabrics. Both cross-linkers impart acceptable shade change in most of the cases apart from three sulphur and five reactive dyed fabrics, where BTCA with phosphite exhibited poor results as compared to DMDHEU. However, similar shade change rating was achieved when phosphite based catalyst was replaced with phosphate based catalyst. In addition, significant increase in crease recovery angel of the dyed fabric was also achieved when any cross-linker was used. Tensile strength of the dyed and finished fabric decreased after the treatment with any cross-linker. In addition, BTCA with phosphite catalyst and DMDHEU treated fabrics exhibited similar tensile strength loss. However, BTCA and less strong reducing catalyst phosphate treated fabric demonstrated superior tensile strength retention as compared to BTCA with phosphate and, DMDHEU.

In this paper, concentration of acidity and major ions in the rainfall in UK is analyzed by assuming a bivariate pseudo-Gamma distribution. The model parameters are estimated by using the maximum likelihood method and the goodness of fit is checked. Furthermore, the non-informative Jeffreys prior for the distribution parameters is derived and a hybrid Gibbs sampling strategy is proposed to sample the corresponding posterior for conducting an objective Bayesian analysis. Finally, related quantities such as the deposition flux density are derived where the general pattern of the observed data appears to follow the fitted densities closely. & 2012 Elsevier Ltd. The distribution of r-th concomitant and joint distribution of r-th and s-th concomitant of record statistics of the resulting distribution have been derived. Single and product moments alongside the correlation coefficient have also been obtained. Recurrence relation for the single moments has also been obtained for the resulting distributions.
