The chitosan (CS) was prepared from shrimp waste (shell) using chemical processes. The percentage yield and degree of deacetylation were 13.64% and 87.07%, respectively. The matrix formulation was obtained with a response surface methodology using a central composite design. The best matrix ratio of chitosan to zeolite was 1:7. This ratio was used for adsorption studies. Batch adsorption studies were carried out to investigate the optimum condition for the removal of Cr(VI) using CS/Z and the adsorbent was characterized using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The influences of solution pH, adsorption dosage, initial Cr(VI) concentration, and temperature on the removal processes were investigated. Adsorbent dosage of 0.25 g using 20 mg/L as the initial solution concentration showed maximum metal uptake, at optimum pH 2. The result obtained from equilibrium isotherm adsorption studies of Cr(VI) ion was analyzed in three adsorption models namely: Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin. The equilibrium studies carried out followed Langmuir isotherm with the highest correlation coefficient (R 2) value of 1. The kinetic parameters were evaluated utilizing the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and Elovich-second-order. It was shown that the adsorption of Cr(VI) ions can be described by the Elovich kinetic model, with a correlation coefficient of 0.96. Thermodynamic parameters studies revealed that the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic in nature. In comparison between CS/Z, Z, and C, the percentage of removals were 97%, 68%, and 50%, respectively. Thus, it can be deduced that CS/Z composite adsorbent is effective and efficient for the removal of Cr(VI) ion.

Against this backdrop, the configural causal effects of task-technology fit, technology-induced engagement and motivation, gender, and residential location on learning performance are examined. The proposed association was tested with a dyad sample of faculty members and students (n = 16) using fuzzy sets (fsQCA) analysis. Results show that (i) task-technology fit, and technology-induced motivation emerge as necessary conditions for high learning performance; (ii) task-technology fit, technology-induced engagement and motivation are sufficient conditions for high learning performance among female students, (iii) task-technology fit, technology-induced engagement and motivation are sufficient conditions for high learning performance among students living in urban areas and (iv) task-technology fit is a sufficient condition for high learning performance among female students living in rural areas irrespective of technology-induced engagement and motivation. Implications for theory and policy prescriptions are offered for practitioners.

Organizational success depends to a large extent on the strengths of its business environment, the codes of behaviour that guide its actions and the effectiveness of its management decisions. This study tried to understand what exerts the most influence between professional skills and employee behaviour when patients decide to visit a hospital in the North West region of Nigeria. Online and paper-based survey questionnaire were used to collect data. All individuals (consumers of hospital services) living within the North West region of Nigeria were invited to join the survey. Out of the 300 responses analysed 147 were from online survey and 153 from paper-based questionnaire which were completed and returned directly or through email. The largest number of participants in the survey (34.9%) is between the ages of 35-44 years old followed by those between the ages of 25-34 years old (31.9%). The results have confirmed that professional skill of employees is the main influence to choice of hospital in that region of Nigeria. It has also been confirmed that most of the patients are satisfied with the services rendered to them in the hospitals.

The media, popularly referred to as the Fourth Estate of the Realm, have been identified as a key institution that plays a critical role in defining the political, economic and socio-cultural reality of given nations. The importance of the media today is immense and indispensable. Never before in mankind's history, the media had such a noteworthy impact on our lives (behaviors) and environments-this perhaps is due to modern technology. In developing state like Nigeria, the media have been instrumental to the struggle for democracy in 1999 after a long period of military rule. Based on this backdrop, this paper examined the contribution or the role of Nigerian media to Nigeria's transition to civil rule (democracy) in May 1999. The paper adopted descriptive research method through the use of secondary sources of data and anchored on the precepts of the Agenda Setting Theory. However, the study concluded that access to media is enormous for the success of democracy because for any democratic regime to survive, adequate quality information is essential.

Drawing on trust transfer theory as a theoretical framework, this study tests an empirical model that investigates the influence of electronic wordof-mouth (eWOM) on destination trust and travel intention. The study also diagnoses gender differences in the proposed model. Data were obtained from a sample of 216 tourists in Cyprus. The findings from regression analyses suggest that eWOM is positively related to travel intention; eWOM is positively related to destination trust; and destination trust is positively related to travel intention. Additionally, the impact of eWOM on destination trust was significant for both genders but stronger for men, while the impact of destination trust on travel intention was stronger for women. The paper extends the existing literature regarding new response variables associated with eWOM.

Gender discriminations against women and the struggle to achieve equality with men in social, economic and political advancement remains an undying issue in societies. The paper explores the roots of patriarchy, domains of women`s deprivations and their negotiations in societies. It concludes by foregrounding the position of women in the society and offers ways to assist their equal and balance development with men. 1. Gender Most societies of the world have patriarchal heritage, a social, political, economic and cultural order in which authority, rights, and privileges are dominated by men. It is widely accepted that women live in men`s world because the values of societies are mostly dictated from men`s view of the world. Alcoff (1988.406) sorrowfully gives a picture of men`s abounding power on women in the following ways, "Man has said that women can be defined, delineated, captured, understood, explained and diagnosed to level of determination never accorded to man himself, who is concerned as a rational animal with free will." Alcoff`s accusation shows that beneath the inseparable relationship between men and women either as husbands and wives, sisters and brothers, mothers and sons, or fathers and daughters, there lies a conflict of gender inequality and imbalance. It has undermined the humanity of women, their achievement and happiness in life. Gender inequality and the struggle to eliminate it is a topical issue in societies. Many explanations have been given for the roots of patriarchy. The sources range from religion, views of philosophers, culture and historical development of societies. A society's patriarchy may be rooted in a complex of sources. The religious source of patriarchy is contentious. In the Judeo-Christian world, women were presented in subordinate and negative images. In Genesis, God created man, Adam first and from his rib (Adam's rib), He created the woman, Eve (Genesis 2:21-22). In Genesis, too, (3:17-19), the fall of man was facilitated by Eve. Similarly, the subordinate position of women in the New Testament can be found in the teachings of St. Paul: Women should listen and learn quietly and submissively. I do not let women teach men or have authority over them. Let them listen quietly. For God made Adam first and afterwards He made Eve. And it was the woman, and not Adam who was deceived by Satan and sin was the result (1 Timothy 2:11-13). In 1 Corinthians (14:34-35) St. Paul writes: Women should be silent during Church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive as the law says. If they have any question to ask, let them ask their husbands at home for it is improper for women to speak in church meetings.

Findings indicates that there is relative presence of economies of scale among the respondents; an average farm in the study area produce at a minimum cost considering the size of the farm which is an indication that they operates in stage II of production surface which is an efficient stage of resource utilization. Findings were further collaborated by mean cost efficiency of 1.165 which shows that an average farm in the study area is about 17% above the frontier cost, indicating that they are relatively efficient in allocating their scarce resources. The significance of the estimated gamma coefficient (0.65) indicate the presence of cost inefficiency effects in egusi melon production

Of immediate relevance to this article is the implementation of policies and strategies to attract students from all over the world. Unfortunately, these policies are partially implemented opting out important factors, as such this article attempt to conceptualize the motivational factors associated with edu-tourism. Data garnered from foreign students in North Cyprus suggest that cost, quality, environmental, regulatory, cultural, political, safety and social factors are key factors for edu-tourism. The outcome in this study will help policy makers determine the factors that influence the choice of tertiary institutions in North Cyprus associated with a particular geodemographic setup. This will also enable policy makers to create a tailor made persuasive strategies, policies, adverts and messages to increase their market share.

Two parameters were determined; acute toxicity and chronic toxicity. For acute toxicity test, the LD50 was found to be over 5000 mg/kg. For chronic toxicity test, the mice were injected with graded doses (250 - 500 mg/kg) of the leaves extract daily for 21 days and the effects on body weight, hematological and serum biochemical parameters were determined. The results revealed that there was no significant change in body weight, meaning that the extract is relatively safe for oral medical use. In fact there were no variable changes in the body weight of the mice from day zero (D0 ) to day twenty one (D21) in all the groups. The parameters determined during chronic toxicity test reveals that the concentrations of urea, chloride ion sodium ion ,potassium ions and bicarbonate were 11.2, 83.2, 131.6, 8.44 and 38 mMol/L respectively for the test animals .The result shows that apart from urea, all other parameters were within physiological acceptable range. The results further reveals, that there was a decrease in Craetinine (88 uMol/L) and Total Protein (57.4 g/L), while AST (19 IU/L), ALT (10 IU/L) and ALP (204 IU/L) concentrations has significantly increased .While there was no significant change in PCV and bilirubin concentrations The finding reveals that C. pentandra has very low toxicity profile in all the tested animals and the plant is relatively safe for herbal oral medication.
