This deformation study is given for the purposes MR measuring, where MR images are deformed from the point of view of susceptibility heterogeneous materials. For the numerical simulation was chosen elementary configuration. The results was verified by MR experimental measurement. As the MR measurement method was used techniques of the gradient echo.

Steel-fiber reinforced concrete is a composite material characterized by outstanding tensile prop... more Steel-fiber reinforced concrete is a composite material characterized by outstanding tensile properties and resistance to the development of cracks. The concrete, however, exhibits such characteristics only on the condition that the steel fibers in the final, hardened composite have been distributed evenly. The current methods to evaluate the distribution and concentration of a fiber composite are either destructive or exhibit a limited capability of evaluating the concentration and orientation of the fibers. In this context, the paper discusses the tests related to the evaluation of the density and orientation of fibers in a composite material.

The method is based on measurement of electromagnetic waves in UHF spectrum produced by PD. The measurement of PD activity has been made on eight power transformers in the Dukovany nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic. The initial experimental measurement, which was under full working arrangements, has been accompanied by some issues. The recorded signals contained strong interference. It has been estimated, that the source of the interference is probably situated in the high voltage bushings, which feed the transformer from a turbo-generator. The interfering signal in form of electromagnetic waves has propagated through the air vicinity and it has coupled to the sensing heads. It has been found that the proper shielding is a crucial factor, while the PD signal level is far below the level of the interference. Further experiments have been conducted with an additional s...

The concrete, however, exhibits such characteristics only on the condition that the steel fibers in the final, hardened composite are distributed evenly. Current methods to evaluate the distribution and concentration in a fiber composite are either destructive or exhibit a limited capability of evaluating the concentration and orientation of the fibers. In this context, the paper discusses auxiliary techniques and laboratory tests that evaluate the density and orientation of the fibers in a composite material, presenting an innovative approach to impedance-based non-destructive testing. The actual methodology utilizes the resonance of the measuring device and the measured sample set; the desired state occurs within the interval of f = 10 kHz and 2 GHz.

In this context, the paper discusses tests related to the evaluation of the density and orientation of fibers in a composite material. Compared to the approaches used to date, the proposed technique is based on the evaluation of the electrical impedance Z in the band close to the resonance of the sensor–sample configuration. Using analytically expressed equations, we can evaluate the monitored part of the composite and its density at various depths of the tested sample. The met...

The verification is realized using a simple sample configuration (circular plate), and the numerically modelled cross-sections are compared with the experimentally obtained values of the magnetic field measured by the MR gradient echo technology. The results show that it is possible-via a technical calculation-to determine a magnetic field deformation in the environment of complex-shaped or inhomogeneous structures in the MR experiments.

In relation to the presented concept, the target areas and disciplines include biology, medicine, prosthetics, and microscopic solutions for modern actuators or SMART elements. The proposed numerical model is based on an analysis of a periodic structure with high repeatability, and it exploits a graphene polymer having a basic dimension in nanometers. The model simulates the actual random motion in the structure as the source of spurious signals and considers the pulse propagation along the structure; furthermore, the model also examines whether and how the pulse will be distorted at the beginning of the line, given the various ending versions. The results of the analysis are necessary for further use of the designed sensing devices based on graphene structures.

The measurement methods properties have to correspond to the fact of whether we want to measure pulses of voltage, current or a free-space electromagnetic wave. The need for specific measurement methods occurred owing to the development of high power microwave pulse generator. Certain applicable

The special light source was designed and constructed for the research activity on the lichen structure in the Antarctica. This research is made by the Institute of Experimental Biology, Masaryk University, Faculty of Science. Required properties were continuous spectral characteristic with respect to photosynthetically active wavelength area, possibility of luminous flux regulation and practically zero thermal effect to illuminated object. Owing to new high-performance LED this type of light source was selected. Design of light source consisting of high efficient white LED's, as well as experimental results, are presented.
