To this end, 71 second grade school boys of middleschool from two classes were randomly chosen and assigned to experimental and control groups. The instruments of research were researcher-developed pre-test and post-test reading comprehensions. The program was in 8 sessions of (5 sessions whole class discussions and 3 sessions group discussions) for experimental of group the result indicated the effectiveness of the program in improving reading comprehension of students in experimental group in the whole test and also in all the subtests. Using the questions of Questioning the Author and Triarchic Reading Comprehension approaches, teacher's modeling, and peers discussion led to an increase in the students' reading comprehension.

Self-efficacy and Academic motivation helps them to use better the academic environment. The aim of this research was to investigate the effects of training success strategies training on self-efficacy and academic motivation in First-year students of Medical Sciences. Methods: This experimental study was designed as pre-posttest with a control group model which was conducted in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2015-2016. Statistical sample was 24 freshmen students that were selected using random cluster sampling and were divided into experimental and control groups. The intervention was planned for 10 sessions (70 minutes each session). During the research phase, the experimental group received a training package about strategies for university success while the control group did not. The tools of research were Sherer's self-efficacy and Vallerend's academic motivation questionnaires that twice as pretest and post test were conducted for the participants in both groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS and MANCOVA. Results: The results showed that success strategies training had a significant effect on self-efficacy and academic motivation of students; So that after intervention the mean score of experimental increased significantly in two variables in comparison to control group. Partial eta squared showed this effect on self-efficacy 53% (F=22/43, P<0/01) and motivation 61%(F=30/21, P<0/01). Conclusion: Based on these results, success strategies instruction may lead to optimized use of the learning environments, increasing self-efficacy and academic motivation in students which provides the foundation for academic achievement.

To show its effectiveness here in Iran, four dyslexic fourth graders, matched on intelligence, dyslexia problems, parents’ level of education, and family’s socio-economic status, were selected from among students at the "Orumieh Special Learning Disabilities Center". Of these, two were randomly selected to form the experimental group and receive reading instructions for three months using the ODCM (orientation counseling and symbol mastery). The other two continued learning with the method customarily used at the Center. Pre- and post- tests in reading were given to both groups. Results show a significant improvement in the reading skills of the experimental group.

Method: This research is a kind of experimental design in which 68 elementary teachers (grades 4 and 5) with at least 10 years of teaching experience and bachelor degree randomly assigned into control (18 females, 16 males) and experimental (20 females, 14 males) groups. The BarOn social-emotional scale (already informed by Samooei) used collecting data. This questionnaire has 90 items in 5 domains (interpersonal, intrapersonal, adjustment, general mood and stress management). Social-emotional skills in the field of interpersonal and intrapersonal skill taught in 10 two-hour sessions to experimental group participants. Results: Experimental group performance in socialemotional skills and its components were higher than the control group and their difference was significant. There was no significant decrease in social-emotional skills and its components after 4 months. Conclusion: To be most effective, emotional literacy content and processes should be applied consistently across the curriculum in all grade levels. Earlier steps to operate social-emotional program are to involve teachers with these skills and to promote their social-emotional abilities.

Method Forty elementary-school students with SLDs were selected from the SLD center of Babol, Iran, and 40 non-SLDs students were chosen from public schools, matched in terms of age, sex, and grade with the group with SLDs. The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-IV), the Draw a Person Picking an Apple from a Tree (PPAT) test, four scales of FEATS for drawing scores, and the Bender-Gestalt test were administered. The data were analyzed by independent samples t-test, Pearson's correlation test, and MANOVA. Results The groups significantly differed on the PPAT test, and the students with SLDs had a lower mean score than the non-SLD students on three components of integration, realism, and perseveration, but not on rotation. On the Bender-Gestalt test, the two groups significantly differed on all four components of distortion, disintegration, perseveration, and rotation. The construct validity was confirmed between SLDs and the components of "integration and disintegration" and "realism and distortion" in the two groups. Moreover, the Bender-Gestalt test had a greater effect than the four components of the FEATS, but the difference was small. Discussion The use of PPAT with FEATS and Bender-Gestalt test can help diagnose children with SLDs.

Hence, we aimed to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and social skills with psychological well-being in the elderly. Methods & Materials In this cross-sectional study, 210 elderly of Tehran City were enrolled using convenient sampling method. They completed Emotional Intelligence Inventory, Social Skill Inventory and Psychological Well-Being Inventory. Data were analyzed using Pearson and Canonical Correlation. Results Results indicated that components of emotional intelligence and social skills were positive predictors of psychological well-being in elderly. Canonical correlation analysis showed that four fundamental variables are needed to understand the relationships between the set of criterion and predicate variables. Fundamental coefficients for the first four dimension were 0.85, 0.58, 0.45 and 0.31 (P<0.005). Conclusion Lack of social skills and emotional intelligence are associated with low psychological wellbeing in elderly. So, training programs for improving these skills in the elderly are recommended.

Methods: The present study is the result of a qualitative study and a semi-structured interview with 13 divorced women in Behbahan, who were selected using purposive sampling method. The data collection method was semi-structured interview and these interviews continued until theoretical saturation. The thematic analysis method (Braun & Clarke, 2006), were selected in order to analyze the data. Results: Data analysis showed 210 codes in 4 main themes (Socio-cultural, Psychological, Personal consequences, Economic consequences) and 15 sub-themes (mposing society's perceptions on divorced women, social stigma, greed, reconnection, relationships with friends and relatives, the role of family, conflicting emotions, emotional thoughts, lack of life skills, communication with children, meta-parenting, crisis of residence, seeking of psychological help, behavioral measures and economic insecurity). Authors in this research investigated the effects of brain-based training on learning and retention of life skills in adolescents. Methods: This experimental study was designed as a pre-post-test with a control group model and was conducted at the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents in Iran/Isfahan in the academic year of 2014-2015. Two groups were selected using random cluster sampling. During the research process, the experimental group received a brain-based training package (in 10 sessions) while the control group continued with their regular training. Results: Multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) was used to compare the pre-test and post-test results. A significant difference was observed between the two groups of this study in learning (F= 22.906, P<0.01) and retention (F=34.744, P<0.01)...

Thus, the present study aimed to provide intervention in English as a foreign language through multisensory phonics instruction to Iranian Persian–speaking students with dyslexia in order to examine the effects of the noted instruction on their L1 and L2 performance, checked using similar tests of L1 and L2 reading and phonological awareness. Results revealed that instruction in L2 enhanced students’ performance in both languages, supporting the Linguistic Interdependence Hypothesis, and certain features of L1 orthography led to specific problems in L2, casting doubt on the accuracy of the Script Dependence Hypothesis.
