Madeeha Malik
Prof. Dr. Madeeha Malik is a healthcare entrepreneur, researcher, trainer, community builder, pharmacist, academician, public health expert and an advocate of gender equity. She founded Cyntax Health Projects in the year 2020 and currently working as the CEO of the organization. She has served as Director/Professor of Pharmacy Department, Hamdard University, Islamabad. She holds a PhD degree in Pharmacy Practice from University Sains Malaysia and Post doctorate in Pharmacy Practice from Northwest University, South Africa. She has the honour of being the first youngest and only female Professor of Pharmacy Practice in Pakistan. She has also served as Visiting Professor at University of Illinois, Chicago, USA to strengthen research and academic collaboration between US and Pakistani Pharmacy Schools. She is the alumni of Academy of Women Entrepreneurs exchange program, by US state Department, CaterpilHers by Miller Centre for social entrepreneurship, USA, Pak Launch Women Accelerator by US-Pak women business council as well as Greater Good Accelerator Program by Atlas Corp, USA.
She has been working with international organizations for establishing adult and youth population norms and value sets and HTA system strengthening for Pakistan. She is also the focal person of ICHOM from South Asian region focused on development of health outcome standards for various mental disorders. She is also working actively with Academy of Eating Disorders USA for creating awareness and generating evidence-based data on Eating Disorders. She is also working for localization of sustainable development goals in Pakistan based on gender lens. She is also the member of executive committee of Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry and also member of Women Business Think Tank, Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. She is also serving as expert member for Infection Control committee, Federal Government Pakistan, responsible for monitoring healthcare institutions in controlling epidemics and also as technical expert for Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, responsible for patient safety and drug recalls throughout the country.
She is also the Higher Education Approved research supervisor for Pakistan and have supervised seventy postgraduate students. She has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and three book chapters and had presented as keynote and podium speaker in more than fifty conferences and conventions nationally as well as internationally in 22 different countries. She has won several national as well as international research grants and is serving as principal investigator in three ongoing clinical trials in Pakistan.
She has been listed among top 1% pharmacy researchers of the world by expertscape. She has received numerous awards including Women Leading Change Asia Pacific Entrepreneur of the year award 2023, PUAN Distinguished Alumni of the year Award 2022 by US Embassy, 1st Businesswomen Excellence Award 2022 by President of Pakistan, 1st Leadership Award 2022 by First Lady of Pakistan, International FIP Rising Stars Award 2022 given to 20 women from 14 countries around the globe and Fatima Jinnah National Award 2021 by Government of Punjab. She has been featured among the top entrepreneurs from the USPWC-Pak Launch Accelerator for “Trailblazing Pakistani Female Entrepreneurs” by US Pakistan Women Business Council. She has also served as a mentor for AWE Cohort 2022 as well as 2023, Egwis Summer Research Program and PUAN summer internship program 2022.
She has also launched Fempower Mart- A one stop shopping destination for all which is an e-mart promoting its own manufactured products as well as the products and services of artisans and different women businesses across Pakistan. She has launched various brands including more than 100 organic skincare and wellness products under the brand Mady Organics. She has also launched organic menstrual hygiene products by the name Fempure including organic sanitary pads, organics wellness wash and wellness mist and is advocating for menstrual health and wellness inclusion and promotion. She has also launched a pret wear and accessories brand to promote body positivity and create awareness on eating disorders with the name Mady Apparels.
