I have a PhD in sociology from Macquarie University and a bachelor in economics from the University of Sydney.
I am an interdisciplinary researcher with interests in links between education and development, political participation in non-democracies, diaspora, postcolonialism and Southeast Asian studies. I have conducted extensive research on educational systems in the Asia-Pacific region, and community development and climate change adaptation in rural Vietnam and Cambodia. I have also undertaken a range of social policy analyses and program evaluation for government agencies in Australia, in disability, employment, and migrant and refugees support services.
