In this paper, we formulate this problem as inferring a mapping from the appearance of a bee to its corresponding pose. The proposed framework utilizes the powerful representation capability of ConvNet to learn the mapping from the local appearance and global structure of a bee to its corresponding pose. Our method is able to localize a varying number of targets in complex background, especially for the cases when the bee is fed sugar water with a stick. It has been shown that our method outperforms the existing bee pose estimation algorithm on two challenging datasets of bees.

Most existing single-hand pose estimation algorithms are either subject to strong assumptions or depend on a weak detector to detect the human hand. We utilize Mask R-CNN to avoid both aforementioned constraints. The proposed framework allows detection of multi-hand instances and localization of hand joints simultaneously. Our experiments show that our method is superior to existing methods.

Atrial and ventricular septal defects were the most common CHD subtypes in most districts. During the past decades, several genes were identified to control atrial septum formation, and mutations of these genes can cause cardiac septation defects. However, the pathogenic mechanism of ASD on transcriptional levels have not been well elucidated yet. Herein, we performed comparative transcriptome analysis between normal and atrial septal defect (ASD) patients by Illumina RNA sequencing (RNA-seq). Advanced bioinformatic analyzes were employed to identify dysregulated genes in ASD. The results indicated that cardiac specific transcriptional factors (GATA4 and NKX2-5), extracellular signal molecules (VEGFA and BMP10) and cardiac sarcomeric proteins (MYL2, MYL3, MYH7, TNNT1 and TNNT3) were downregulated in ASD which may affect heart atrial septum formation, cardiom...

Human dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) isolated from adult dental pulp are multipotent mesenchymal ... more Human dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) isolated from adult dental pulp are multipotent mesenchymal stem cells that can be directed to differentiate into osteogenic/odontogenic cells and also trans-differentiate into neuronal cells. The utility of DPSC has been explored in odontogenic differentiation for tooth regeneration. Alcohol abuse appears to lead to periodontal disease, tooth decay and mouth sores that are potentially precancerous. Persons who abuse alcohol are at high risk of having seriously deteriorated teeth, gums and compromised oral health in general. It is currently unknown if alcohol exposure has any impact on adult stem cell maintenance, stem cell fate determination and plasticity, and stem cell niche environment. Here we provide detailed experimental methods, analysis and information associated with our data deposited into Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) under GSE57255. Our data provide transcriptomic changes that are occurring by EtOH treatment of DPSCs at 24-hour and 4...

The advantages of this procedure include good yields and a green nature.

Its preparation is achieved via a four-step sequence from methyl 2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-α-d-arabinofuranoside in 74% overall yield.

Therefore, the cooling and calibrating ability of the calibrator directly influence the quality and output of the profile. The key is to design the distribution of cooling channels in calibrator. By analyzing the heat transfer process during cooling in calibrator, the cooling process of plastic profile in calibrator is simulated. Based on the finite element analysis results, the optimization objective is established to obtain the cooling efficiency and uniformity of each node in the profile cross sections of the calibrators exit and finish the optimization design of the cooling channels positions.

Its cooling and calibrating ability directly influence the quality and output of the profile. Based on the analysis of the heat transfer process during cooling in calibrator, the initial and boundary conditions of cooling numerical simulation are further analyzed and calculated. Then the cooling process of plastic profile in calibrator is simulated. The calculation rationality of the initial and boundary conditions and the accuracy of numerical simulation are verified by measuring the surface temperature of profile in production.

These Notes should not exceed 2500 words (where a figure or table counts as 200 words). Following informal review by the Editors, they may be published within a few months of the date of receipt. Style requirements are the same as for regular contributions (see inside back cover).

Currently many important mechanisms of roughnessinduced transition are not well understood. In recent years, direct numerical simulation (DNS) has been extensively applied for investigating instability and transition mechanisms of hypersonic boundary layers. Most of the past DNS studies, however, have been based on body-fitted grids for smooth surfaces without roughness. Due to complex geometry of embedded roughness, the use of body-fitted grids can be very difficult for flow with arbitrary surface roughness. In this paper, we present a new high-order cut-cell method to overcome the natural complexities in grid generation around arbitrary surface of roughness. The new method combines a non-uniform-grid finite-difference method for discrete grid points near the solid boundary and a shock-fitting method for the treatment of the bow shock. The non-uniform-grid finite-difference formulas are expressed in a general explicit form so that they can be applied to different multi-dimensional problems without any modification. The computational accuracy of new algorithms of up to O(h 4) are tested on several one-and two-dimensional elliptic equations in irregular domains. In addition, the new method is applied to the simulation of the receptivity process of a Mach 5.92 flow over a flat plate under the combined effect of an isolated surface roughness element and surface blow and suction. A good agreement is found between the unsteady flow results and those obtained by a Linear Stability Theory (LST).

In this paper, we propose the "fingerprints" technique to analyze the users' daily behavior patterns to find the meaningful moments to better support mobile persuasive technologies, especially mobile health interventions. We assume that for many persons, their behaviors have patterns and can be detected through the sensor data from smartphones. We develop a three-step interactive machine learning workflow to describe the concept and approach of the "fingerprints" technique. By this we aim to implement a practical and lightweight mobile intervention system without burdening the users with manual logging. In our feasibility study, we show results that provide first insights into the design of the "fingerprints" technique.
