The objective of this solution is to reduce the value of total harmonic distortion (THD) ratio of the power supply line. A predictive control algorithm is implemented in the control circuit, allowing to react in advance to predictable load changes and to reduce dynamic distortion. For loads with unpredictable current changes a multirate APF is proposed, in which to ordinary shunt APF structure a fast three-phase output inverter is added. In addition to the proposed circuits, this paper also presents results of experimental and simulation-based investigations.

Simulation programs enable to broaden the didactic offer for technical schools and universities and increase the selfeducation opportunities. The use of computer simulations often helps to understand difficult phenomena occurring in the operation of converter systems. Information obtained during simulation tests enable the verification of the knowledge gained by pupils, students and engineers in real model laboratories. The article presents the application of the selected simulation programs in broadening the knowledge of converter systems.

This can be achieved by performing outdoor measurements (in open-air), by using a near-field technique or by using a large anechoic acoustic chamber. The frequency characteristics of an exemplary loudspeaker are obtained and compared using these three methods. This article also describes anechoic acoustic chamber built in the Science and Technology Park of the University of Zielona Gora.

In times of distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be necessary to find a solution so that the students can perform such exercises individually at home. Therefore, it has become necessary to develop cheap and simple modules of digital controllers along with analog objects with adjustable order and time constants. This paper describes a low-cost proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller for teaching students control techniques and analog control objects in real time. The PID controller is based on the cheap and widely available microcontroller modules Arduino or STM32. The advantage of this solution is that the algorithm of the digital PID controller is calculated every constant period of time. Both the solutions presented in the paper have been successfully tested by students in practice during r...

Traditionally, APF control algorithms use first harmonic detector circuits, which can be implemented using the SDFT algorithm. The classical SDFT algorithm is characterized by long-term stability issues, resulting from numerical errors. Many complex modifications to improve the stability of the SDFT algorithm have been proposed in the scientific literature. This article proposes a solution to the SDFT stability problem using the basic structure of the algorithm. The authors propose the use of the switching SDFT algorithm, where two original SDFT algorithms are implemented in parallel. Both algorithms are turned on alternately after a set period of time and reset to zero in order to reset numerical errors causing their unstable operation. Compared to the classical three-phase SDFT algorithm, the three-phase SSDFT requires only ...

As an example a control circuit for a three-phase 75 kVA parallel active power filter (APF) is used. Such filters have been built and tested. Some illustrative, experimental results are also presented in the paper. The control algorithms of the proposed APF are implemented in the fixed-point digital signal processor TMS320C50. The presented control APF algorithm is a good alternative to classical APF control algorithms, because it allows easy selection of control parameters in mains currents: imbalance, reactive power or harmonics contents. In the proposed circuit transient performance of APF is improved using non-causal predictive current compensation.

Such a control circuit has been realized using a fixed-point digital signal processor. When the value of load current changes rapidly, the APF transient response is too slow. This distortion causes an increase of harmonic content in the line current, which is dependent on a time constant. In the proposed circuit the transient performance of the APF is improved using non-causal predictive current compensation. Some illustrative, experimental results are also presented in the paper Streszczenie. Powoduje to zwiększenie zawartości harmonicznych w prądzie linii. W układzie sterowania zastosowano nieprzyczynowy algorytm sterowania. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki eksperymentalne opracowanej modyfikacji. (Układ sterowania energetycznym filtrem aktywnym z zastosowaniem zmodyfikowanego algorytmu opartego na teorii mocy chwilowej)

When the value of load current changes rapidly, the APF transient response is too slow, the line current suffers from dynamic distortion. This distortion causes an increase of harmonic content in the line current, which is dependent on a time constant. The APF control current dynamics is dependent on the inverter output time constant consisting of APF output inductance and resultant impedance of load and mains. According to this modification the APF dynamics are improved. The Matlab simulation results of the modified APF are also presented in the paper. As an example a control circuit for a three-phase 75 kVA parallel active power filter (APF) is used. I.

Theoretical preliminary to averaged modelling of these conditioners with current time averaging operator and averaging errors estimation for fundamental harmonics of state variable is presented. On the base of theoretical consideration there is steady-state averaged AC models quantitative accuracy evaluation formulated in this paper. As an application of the theory, examples of the analysis of averaging errors for conditioners based on buck-boost and Sepic topologies are presented. In this paper one can find averaging errors analysis both as a function of switching frequency as well as a function of load resistance.
