The main objective of this review is to identify the most frequently isolated bacteria in patient... more The main objective of this review is to identify the most frequently isolated bacteria in patients with infections related to nipple piercings in case reports and case series. In addition, the aim is to describe clinical manifestations and antecedents. There is a protocol of this review. The terms “bacterial infections”, “nipple piercing” and their synonyms were considered. Pubmed/Medline, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science core collection and Ovid/Medline databases were searched until November 15, 2021 without date or language restrictions. Two authors extracted the articles and three other authors performed the selection, first by title and abstract, and second by full-text revision. Discrepancies were resolved with yet two other authors. Quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs checklists. Finally, data extraction was realized. A total of 1,531 articles were extracted, of which 20 articles were included, and one article was added by hand-searching. The final number of articles included was 21, all of them with acceptable quality of evidence. Twenty-seven patients were considered (23 women and 4 men), aged between 15–60 years old. The most frequent bacterial genus in case reports and case series was Staphylococcus (n=10), and the most frequent species was M. fortuitum (n=6), although etiology seems to be diverse. The breast was the main affected organ, and the most frequent findings were fluid collection, pain, erythema, granulation tissue and swelling. The suspicion of infection by this bacterial species could be taken into account when it is associated with nipple piercings; however, larger studies are required to give a conclusion based on the evidence.

Various methods for determining the accessibility of near-Earth asteroids have been presented; however, this method focuses on the quantity and types of resources that are available within a certain energy constraint given a redirection time frame. Lambert’s problem is solved to determine the optimal transfer orbit between the Earth and asteroid for rendezvous. A genetic algorithm is used to determine the minimum energy for transfer with varying flight durations and launch dates. The physical properties and spectral classifications of known asteroids are used to estimate the quantity and chemical composition of accessible resources. This method is applied to asteroids that have assigned taxonomic classifications. An overall distribution of asteroid types and energy requirements is presented for Earth and investigated for a sample asteroid scenario.

Esta investigacion se desarrollo en la Estacion Experimental FEDEPAPA ubicada en el corregimiento... more Esta investigacion se desarrollo en la Estacion Experimental FEDEPAPA ubicada en el corregimiento de Obonuco, Municipio de Pasto, Departamento de Narino localizado a 1°13´LN y 77°16´LO a 2710 msnm con una precipitacion promedio anual de 840 mm y temperatura promedio de 13oC, donde se evaluo la perdida de suelo por erosion hidrica en siete sistemas productivos de papa (Solanum tuberosum) con tres repeticiones en un diseno de bloques completos al azar en un terreno entre 31-42% de pendiente. Se establecieron parcelas de escorrentia con una canaleta colectora de suelo y dos tanques sedimentadores para determinar la cantidad de suelo perdido en kg.ha-1 despues de cada evento de precipitacion, los datos se expresaron en peso de suelo seco y las mediciones se realizaron durante un ciclo de cultivo de papa. In order to demonstrate the safety of engineered barriers for radwaste geological repositories, r... more In order to demonstrate the safety of engineered barriers for radwaste geological repositories, rich characterizations of bentonite hydro-mechanical behaviour are essential. X-ray Computed Tomography was used as the single input to measure both the full displacement field and water content in a heterogeneous bentonite sample resaturated in quasi-isochoric conditions. Since large texture changes do not allow the use of Digital Volume Correlation, this was achieved using 3D particle tracking to provide the kinematics in combination with calibrated and beam hardening-corrected grey levels. Matching the grey level sampling with those of kinematics using a mesh-based analysis, results show the development of heterogeneous swelling inside the cell and a final solid density gradient in the direction of water flow.
