T... more The study was carried in Rengen health center III located in Rengen sub-county Kotido district. The general objectives were to assess factors related to malnutrition among children under 5 years in Rengen health center III. Height/length for weight, weight for age, midupper arm circumference (MUAC) measurements and general physical examination were used. In 40 children 32 were found to be having malnutrition. Out of 32 children majority 17 (53.1%) were between 2 and 5 years of age followed by 11 (34.4%) who were between 1 and 2 years while 4 were less than 1 year of age. In the treatment outcome, out of the 32 children enrolled in the study 8 of them were having kwashiorkor with edema and of which 6 (75%) were found edema to have subsided during follow up time whereas 2 (25%) edema were not subsided. In addition, 19 children that were marasmic low weight for age, by the time of the follow up 10 (52.6%) had gained weight whereas only 9 (47.4%) had not gained weight. The findings are presented in form of bar graphs, pie charts, table and figures. Therefore, from the findings of the study it was concluded that: malnutrition among children is still high, particularly among children between 2 and 5 years and higher in males than females. The recommendation is that screening of malnutrition should be performed to identify the risk group so that proper intervention can be taken in the management by following WHO regimen. Success rate of outpatient therapeutic feeding program where "ready to use therapeutic food" (RUTF) used, should be monitored regularly. A large multicenter study should be undertaken to determine the burden of malnutrition in the whole district and speculate its risk factors, which may help to provide proper measures on how malnutrition can be prevented.

One of strategies to improve maternal health is the implementation and appropriate use of focused antenatal care (FANC) services. Utilization of FANC is influenced by several factors that vary from one country to another. The main objective of the study was to examine utilization of four antenatal clinic visits among post-natal clients at Bwera Hospital. The specific objectives of the study were assessing the proportion of mothers who completed four ANC at Bwera Hospital and identify the factors impacting utilization of four antenatal clinic visits among post-natal clients at Nyakibale hospital. This was across sectional quantitative study conducted among post-natal mothers on post-natal ward of Bwera Hospital. The study included 50 mothers who were selected by convenient method of sampling on postnatal ward. Structured questioners were used to obtain the information from the study participants and were administered by the researcher SPSS Software version 16 and Microsoft excel were used to generate descriptive statistics. Almost all, 96% participating women had at least some knowledge of FANC, and a few women 36% attended four ANC visits. Desirability, seeking permission to start and use FANC, were also associated with low utilization of FANC. The study has shown that majority of participating mothers knew the importance of FANC. Low utilization of FANC among postnatal mothers in Nyakibale hospital has been shown to be influenced by higher parity, Age range between 20-25 years, desirability and seeking permission. Health education aimed at promoting uptake of FANC services should be intensified in the district to ultimately improve maternal and infant health.

It is associated with high rate of female reproductive health morbidity; it can complicate with ectopic pregnancy, infertility and chronic pelvic pain. A poor response therapy increases the likelihood of these complications; this could be due to an increase in antimicrobial resistant pathogens. This was a cross-sectional study conducted among women who attended gynecology clinic at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital. Consecutive enrolment of 324 participants who consented to participate was done daily until a required sample size was realized from November 2019 to January 2020. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data on associated factors; endocervical swab was taken from patient clinically diagnosed with PID. Culturing for colony characteristics followed by Gram stain was used for provisional identity of pathogenic bacteria. Further identification was done by a set of biochemical tests. Antibacterial susceptibility pattern of isolated bacterial pathogens was determined by Kirby Bauer disc diffusion method, a rapid diagnostic test to detect Chlamydia antibody in the endocervical swab sample was also used to identify the Chlamydia trachomatis carriers among the patients. Data was analyzed using STATA VERSION 14.2. The isolated bacteria was Staphylococcus aureus and the least-prevalent pathogen was citrobacter species. Staphylocccocus aureus showed high susceptibility to Imipenem. The high resistence rate of more than 60% was seen to the commonly prescribed antibiotics as recommended by Uganda clinical guideline these were Doxicillin, ciprofloxacin, Cefixim and Ceftriaxon. Staphylococcus aureus is the commonest organism isolated from the endocervical swab of patients with PID. Awareness amongst health workers and patients about these major factors so that management can be directed. Rational use of antibiotics by health workers is paramount to combat resistance.

The configuration of route exchange between PE and CE routers involved the implementation of a routing protocol (or static/default routes) on the CE routers. No specific configuration other than the regular routing protocol configuration was required on the CE routers. On the PE router, VRF routing contexts (or address family contexts) were required for route exchange between the PE and CE. Then, these routes were mutually redistributed with the MP-BGP process per VRF. The next tables show the steps that followed to configure the routers. We used the command sh ip route on the Customer Network to show the end-to-end connectivity between the CE routers within each VRF and their complete routing tables.
