This qualitative phenomenological study explores women's leadership development and opportunities... more This qualitative phenomenological study explores women's leadership development and opportunities at Central Mindanao University (CMU) in advanced leadership positions. It investigates the factors shaping their career trajectories, emphasizing the pivotal role of educational attainment, particularly doctoral degrees, in advancing women into leadership roles. The research highlights the importance of academic distinctions and a solid commitment to service as critical motivators for women to embrace leadership roles despite initial hesitations. The study delves into the expected behaviors and qualities of leaders in higher education, emphasizing attributes vital for fostering academic excellence and inclusivity. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research examines the lived experiences of women leaders at CMU. Semi-structured interviews with purposively selected women in leadership roles provide in-depth insights into their experiences, perspectives, and challenges. Thematic analysis reveals recurring patterns, themes, and nuances, offering a comprehensive understanding of women's leadership trajectories. Leadership roles present opportunities for both professional and personal development, yet biases and systemic barriers persist, perpetuating gender disparities. Environmental factors, such as organizational culture, significantly influence leadership behaviors, necessitating adaptive strategies. Institutional support systems, including mentorship initiatives, foster effective leadership. The diverse experiences of participants underscore the complexity of women's leadership journeys, offering valuable insights for aspiring leaders. Addressing biases, promoting equitable opportunities, and creating supportive environments can pave the way for gender equality at CMU and similar institutions. Embracing inclusive practices can empower CMU to champion gender diversity and equity in higher education.

By introducing the K-12 program and emphasizing effective educational leadership and management, RA 10533 sought to address longstanding disparities and elevate the country's education quality. This qualitative research study delves into the multifaceted impact of RA 10533 on implementing K-12 education, specifically focusing on educational leadership and management practices in the Philippines. Through a comprehensive literary analysis of academic articles and official documents, the study uncovers the transformative changes catalyzed by RA 10533. These changes encompass various aspects, including curriculum reform, teacher training, and governance structures. Despite the positive outcomes observed, such as enhanced global competitiveness and improved educational quality, the study also identifies challenges encountered during implementation. These challenges range from mixed reactions among stakeholders to concerns about college readiness among students completing senior high school under the new system. Hence, the study underscores the significance of collaborative efforts and ongoing research in ensuring the successful implementation of the K-12 program. By addressing challenges and leveraging opportunities, educational stakeholders can foster a more inclusive and responsive educational system that equips students with the skills and competencies needed to thrive in the 21st century.

Water is vital for maintaining life and promoting healthy living. The Sawaga River in Malaybalay ... more Water is vital for maintaining life and promoting healthy living. The Sawaga River in Malaybalay City, Philippines, has become contaminated, causing the outbreak of waterborne diseases. As a result of poor waste management, agricultural runoff, industrial activities, and deforestation, water quality has deteriorated. This research explores the alarming increase in waterborne diseases in barangays directly affected by the Sawaga River's flow, including Patpat, Kalasungay, San Jose, Laguitas, Linabo, and Bangcud. Based on the records from the City Health Office of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, as of 2023, Amoeba and Acute Abdominal Disease have emerged as significant health threats in these communities due to exposure through drinking and bathing in the contaminated river. According to international law, which emphasizes the highest attainable standard of health for all people, the residents' right to health is violated. To reduce pollution and protect public health, proactive measures are needed to minimize river contamination. Residents living along the Sawaga River need comprehensive interventions, sustainable water management practices, and policy reforms to restore their health and ensure a safe and healthy future. Qualitative methods were employed, such as key informant interviews, document analyses, and literature reviews. A thematic analysis of the collected data addressed ethical considerations. There were a variety of potential solutions to mitigate waterborne diseases' health risks and environmental impacts, including improved waste management, water quality monitoring, public awareness campaigns, water treatment facilities, community involvement, and enforcement of regulations. By delving into the philosophical foundations of women's rights, employing a qualitative approach through an extensive literature review, and engaging in detailed discussions, this paper aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the progress, challenges, and potential solutions to gender equality. The conceptual framework examines the historical evolution of women's rights, and acknowledges gender equality. The function of international human rights treaties is analyzed, focusing on the impact of significant legal instruments such as the UDHR and CEDAW in promoting and safeguarding women's rights worldwide. By selecting scholarly publications, books, international legal instruments, and reports from prominent international organizations, the study draws upon credible and authoritative sources to support its debates and findings. The debates and presentations area covers essential topics of women's empowerment under international law. It focuses on women's political involvement, economic empowerment, the fight against violence against women, and access to education. This study explores the legal frameworks, developments, problems, and practices to illuminate the multidimensional character of women's empowerment and show the interconnectivity of multiple aspects of women's rights. The study emphasizes the importance of international legal procedures in furthering women's rights. International law provides a framework for addressing gender-based discrimination, violence, and inequality and is critical for promoting and safeguarding women's rights worldwide. The study reports recommendations for future action, including ways to strengthen legal frameworks, enhance access to justice, and foster international cooperation to improve women's empowerment under international law further.
