One way to achieve this is through the management of urban forest in the metropolitan area. Urban forest may be defined as the collection of all trees in stands and groups as well as single trees within and close to urban area. These includes for examples trees in woods, parks, private gardens, streets, as well as a tree planted around factories, offices, hospitals, and schools. Benefits of Urban forest are trees provide shade and lower surface temperatures on roads, walkways and other paved surfaces, reducing the heating of rainwater that runs across its surface. The urban forest minimizes the fast, hot and dirty impact of runoff pollution. Trees help protect your house from rain, heat, and wind, reducing your energy use. Trees help to shade your lawn and garden which reducing their water needs in summer. Abundant remote sensing techniques have been developed for analyzing the satellite images.

This processing comprises two fundamental and critical steps towards content analysis and image understanding i.e. image segmentation and classification. This paper proposes a robust object based segmentation algorithm using multi-resolution analysis technique and object based supervised image classification using modified cloud basis functions (CBFs) neural network algorithm to identify road features from high resolution satellite remotely sensed images .

As the number of students are increasing day by day, it is a challenging task for universities or colleges to monitor and maintain the record of the students. Automated systems involving use of biometrics like fingerprint and iris recognition are well developed in the recent years however, it is intrusive and cost required for deployment on large scale gets increased substantially. To overcome these issues, biometric feature like facial recognition can be used which involves the phases such as image acquisition, face detection, feature extraction, face classification, face recognition and eventually marking the attendance. The algorithms like Viola-Jones and HOG features along with SVM classifier are used to acquire the desired results. Various real time scenarios need to be considered such as scaling, illumination, occlusions and pose. The problem of redundancy in manual records and keeping attendance is solved by this system. Quantitative analysis is done on the basis of PSNR values.

Unfortunately, shadows cast by buildings in high-density urban environments obscure much of the information in the image, leading to potentially corrupted classification results or blunders in interpretation. The objective of this paper is to propose an algorithm for better identification and classification of shadows in VHR images. Two prime stages were carried out i.e. shadow identification and shadow classification. The shadow detection accuracy was calculated by using Cohen’s Kappa Coefficient and hence User’s Accuracy and Producer’s were also measured. It is observed that support vector machine gives better classification accuracy. The reconstruction of an original image is accomplished by using border interpolation. Experimental results are obtained on three VHR images representing different shadow conditions. Keywords : Cast shadow, self shadow, shadow detection, VHR satellite ...

Tress–grass, human forest, buildings, and constructions add up to the total of the land cover. All of these fundamentals have very much in common among themselves in appearance in order to classify and separate them using the aforementioned method of VHR imagery. So for separating these land covers, more information is needed to distinguish them. K-means is one such algorithm that can be effectively used to solve this problem. However, the classical orthodox method of clustering using K-means would still be ineffective as it has its own demerits. If the starting median is not properly selected the resultant cluster can be of poor quality which can be further of no use. Through this paper, an optimized K-means clustering method is put forth, which refers to the traditional method along with different techniques to improve the efficiency and accuracy.

There are various algorithms used for classification of data some algorithms are rule based and some algorithms are learning based. We may get good classification but some pixels are always misclassified or unclassified. The major reason for misclassification is mixed pixel. The composition of the various objects in a single pixel makes identification of genuine class more difficult. Subpixel algorithms give the better idea about the respective class of such pixels. The subpixel mapping method is varies depending on the type of image. In Panchromatic or multispectral images the data set is very less as compared to the hyperspectral image. A hyperspectral image contains contiguous bands. Each band is very narrow with few nanometer bandwidths. More than a hundred such bands are available in the hyperspectral image. This huge data set is very difficult for the typical neural network to process. The feedforward neural network is not able to reach the local minima whereas the back propagation neural network needs a lot of time to converge to a minimum value. Radial basis function neural network has some advantages over other but it gives poor performance on hyperspectral imaging. The convolutional neural network is going to resolve the huge data problem. It has a 3-dimensional vector in which we can take multiple kernels to operate on interested data. This kernel gives us depth which is nothing but the more information of the same pixel. So here we can save a lot of information as compared to other neural networks. But in the convolutional neural network after the pooling layer, our data is in a 3D form which we need to convert again in 1D by flattening.

Earlier it was simply data hiding then reversible data hiding and currently its encrypted data hiding reversibly. Introducing new challenge is always as important as keeping it unreachable to the hacker. In proposed work security is enhanced by encrypting data and then embedding the encrypted form of data. Reserve Room before encryption gives an added advantage for enough space for data hiding. Haar wavelet is best suitable wavelet amongst other wavelet like symlet, bior, coiflet and contourlet, when the input image is encrypted image rather than a plain image. The quality of image has been evaluated by performance analysis like MSE, PSNR and hiding capacity on different types of color images and results were compared. Minimum errors with high SNR rate at various data hiding capacity were seen.

Digital recording converts the analog sound signal picked up by the microphone to a digital form by a process of digitization. Both Analog and Digital Sound recording techniques have their pros and cons. However, the common disadvantage that both these techniques suffer from is the loss in the clarity of the signal due to distortion and attenuation of signal during propagation from the source of sound to the diaphragm of the microphone. This paper presents a novel approach that will get rid of the problems like signal attenuation and distortion while recording audio signals The approach is based on mapping the vibrations of the source with a High Speed camera by using Computer Vision techniques like Object Tracking. We prove that the approach is noise-resistant and can record a signal by maintaining a high quality, which is much better than the quality of the signal recorded by a microphone. Moreover, the approach can take sound recording and reproduction to a new level by making it possible to select a source when there are multiple sources producing audio signals simultaneously. A technology based on the proposed approach will particularly benefit researchers interested in recording the minute details of the audio signal of any frequency, without being restrained by the limitations of the recording system or the distance of the source of sound.

Hence, detecting and recognizing moving vehicles in traffic scenes for traffic surveillance, traffic control, and road traffic information systems is an emerging research area for Intelligent Transportation Systems. Due to rapid increase in vehicles, there is exponential increase in accidents. Some costly cars had already implemented some in-built features (varying according to the company) of vehicle collision avoidance system but it's not affordable to every individual. Hence, this work is an attempt to develop a vehicle tracking system with multiple features in one system to deal with the severity of a collision to some extent for the common men. An important aspect of this collision avoidance system is the tracking of vehicle taillights and the detection of alert signals (turns and brakes). It further has the provision of counting the cars, detecting the obstacles coming while driving with the measurement of its distance from the driven vehicle. In addition, tracking of number plate of vehicle is also possible to figure out the vehicle causing accidents.

These urban forest and urban trees have impact on urban water, pollution and heat. Nowadays we are experiencing drastic climatic changes because of cutting of trees for our growth and increasing population which leads to expansion of roads, towers, and airports. Individual tree crown detection is necessary to map the forest along with feasible planning for urban areas. In this study, using WorldView-2imagery, trees in specific area are detected with object-based image analysis (OBAI) approach. Therefore with improvement in spatial and spectral resolution of an image, extracted from WorldView-2 carried out urban features with better accuracy. The aim of this research is to illustrate how object-based method can be applied to the available data to accurately find out vegetation, which can be further sub-classified to obtain area under tree canopy. The result thus obtained gives ar...

Initially the shadow and the building region are investigated and building extraction is mainly focused. Once all the landscape is collected a trimming process is done so as to eliminate the landscapes that may occur due to nonbuilding objects. Finally the label method is used to extract the building regions. The label method may be altered for efficient building extraction. The images used for the analysis are the ones which are extracted from the sensors having resolution less than 1 meter (VHR). This method provides an efficient way to produce good results. The additional overhead of mid processing is eliminated without compromising the quality o...
