In my own journey of self-discovery, I developed a passion for working with whānau who have mental health and addiction issues. Brought up in a home with strong tikanga principles, my upbringing supports the way I work with whānau. As a registered Māori Clinical Practitioner, I witnessed first-hand there was no support in the community for whānau indirectly and directly affected by methamphetamine. As a result, in 2017, I formed the Mana Enhancing Group, a model care to help awhi (embrace) tangata whaiora and their whānau to feel empowered by the outcome of psychotherapy as a treatment for their addiction and problematic behaviours.
