The Asian and Pacific Islander (API) population in the United States is ethnically and linguistically diverse. We pursue this analysis with a fluid approximation for Markov-modulated Brownian motion. We follow a Markov-renewal approach and we prove that the stationary distribution of a Markov-modulated Brownian motion reflected at zero is the limit from the well-analyzed stationary distribution of approximating linear fluid processes. Thus, we provide a new approach for obtaining the stationary distribution of a reflected MMBM without time-reversal or solving partial differential equations. Our results open the way to the analysis of more complex Markov-modulated processes.

This paper deals with one of many problems associated with building such a system. There is the problem of classification and identification of required information for agent's performance. Pellucid agents use historical experience and information to assist newly arriving employees, therefore searching for some specific data from the database is a routine task that they have often to do. This paper presents methods for encoding data and creating the database, so that agents can have an easy access to the required information. Furthermore, two methods applicable with every type of database for classification and selection of historical information are presented

This analysis follows the work by on the initiation of compaction bands employing the same theory. In both studies, the theory exploits the links between the stresses and strains, and the micromechanics of grain crushing and pore collapse, giving the derived constitutive models advantages over previous models. In the current post localization analysis, the bifurcation instability of the continuum model is suppressed by the use of a rate-dependent regularization. This allows us to perform a series of finite element analyses of drained triaxial tests on porous sandstone specimens. The obtained numerical results compare well with experimental counterparts, in terms of both the initiation and propagation of compaction bands, besides the macroscopic stress-strain responses. On this basis, a parametric study is carried out to explore the effects of loading rate, degree of structural imperfections, and confining pressure on the propagation of compaction bands.

These localization zones are oriented at high angles to the compressive maximum principal stress direction. Grain crushing and pore collapse are the integral parts of the compaction band formation; the lower

The differences in settlement calculation by Slovak Technical Standard STN 73 1001:2010 and Polish Standard PN-81/B-03020 will be introduced. The differences in limiting values of foundation movement by the Standards will be also shown. Poorly-graded sand (SP) and clay of high plasticity (CH) as subsoil in an area of industrial and Technology Park belonging to territory of town Tarnobrzeg (Poland) and clay of extremely high plasticity (CE) from Niepo omice (Poland) will serve as example soils.
