In the present study,we first carry out numerical simulation of the barotropic tidal elevation field in theIndonesian Seas using horizontally two-dimensional primitive equation model. It is foundthat, to reproduce realistic tidal elevations in the Indonesian Seas, the energy lost by theincoming barotropic tides to internal waves within the Indonesian seas should be taken intoaccount. The numerical experiments show that the model predicted tidal elevations in theIndonesian Seas best fit the observed data when we take into account the baroclinic energyconversion in the Indonesian Seas ~86.1 GW for the M2 tidal constituent and ~134.6 GWfor the major four tidal constituents (M2, S2, K1, O1). This research aims to determine the temporal and spatial SST in the North and South Lombok Strait. Therefore, this study divides the Lombok Strait area into two because of the influence of the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. The method used in this research is descriptive and statistical analysis. The highest average monthly SST in the northern and southern Lombok Strait occurred in April at 29.11 °C and the lowest in August at 26.82°C. For the average seasonal SST, the highest occurred at transition I of 28.86°C, and the lowest occurred in the eastern season at 27.39°C. The highest average annual SST occurred in 2010 at 28.83°C and the lowest occurred in 2018 at 27.69°C. The northern SST anomaly has the same fluctuation as ENSO with...

This study aims to identify and calculate the rate of shoreline change in Gianyar and Klungkung from 1995 to 2015. The study was a preliminary information shoreline change and do not analyze the causes such as tides, currents, waves, and wind. The method used remote sensing analysis with the extraction of the coastline from the Landsat 5 satellite images in 1995, Landsat 7 in 2005, and Landsat 8 2015. Landsat imagery analyzed by a combination of methods approach the threshold and band ratio of wave infrared and green. Image processing using software Quantum GIS 2.8 and System for Automated Geoscientific Analyses (SAGA) GIS 2.2, extention Digintal Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) to make calculations transect coastl...

The research about plankton saprobic in Benoa Harbour is never done before. The aim of this research is to explain the structure of community and the level of plankton saprobic at Benoa Harbour. This research using random sampling method for determine the station. The result explained that there was 17 species of plankton in the waters of Benoa Harbor from two classes such as Bacillariophyceae, Dinophyceae on phytoplankton and from five classes such as Magnoliopsida, Malacostraca, Maxillopoda, Globothalamea and Hexanauplia on zooplankton. The total abundance of plankton ranges from 1.117.172 Individual / Liter- 1.626.163 Individual / Liter. The zooplankton diversity index in the waters of Benoa Harbor ranges from 1.06 to 1.58 and phytoplankton ranges from 1.02 to 155. This i...

One of the biggest fish catch sectors in Indonesia is tuna fisheries. Distribution of tuna in Indonesia waters affected by Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a. The aims of this study is to analyze the distribution of chlorophyll-a and SST in the water of South Java - Bali using AQUA MODIS satellite through data in-situ, to know the accuracy of SST Ground Truth and SST imagery satellite and to find the relationship between chlorophyll-a and SST with catches tuna in the water of South Java - Bali. SST data and chlorophyll-a were obtained through remote sensing technology and the catches of tuna was obtained by in-situ. The methods used were polynomial regression analysis, regression linear analysis and correlation analysis to determine the relationship of these parameters, found strong correlation between SST Ground Truth and SST imag...
