Nowadays, the process of monitoring forested areas is a national requirement. The importance of f... more Nowadays, the process of monitoring forested areas is a national requirement. The importance of forests in mitigating climate change is well known. On the other hand, the economic aspects of forest management are important too. From this point of view, inventorying and assessing the growth and yield rate of wooded areas is extremely important. Estimating growth rate per hectare unit and production level of forested areas in order to obtain and accurate inventory is important in determining the supply of wood. The present paper is based on the evaluation after 6 growing seasons. The sectors monitored are located along areas of relatively low elevation (280-450 m). The climatic gradient can also be neglected because of the character of the studied areas. The research was carried out in the southeastern part of Romania. From this point of view, these new tools are now essential in monitoring operations for vegetation and non-renewable resources, especially in developing countries. In today's literature a series of 262 spectral indices are defined to evaluate the vegetation health for a specific area. For the vast majority of these infrared spectral index values are included. Infrared recording devices are quite expensive. In this respect, the possibility of using only the visible domain should be experienced in order to reduce the operational costs. In this work, the corrosion resistance of hybrid coatings obtained from plastic materials was eva... more In this work, the corrosion resistance of hybrid coatings obtained from plastic materials was evaluated and compared with the corrosion resistance of Zn coatings. Zinc and hybrid coatings were obtained by electrodeposition from zinc sulphate electrolyte. For obtained hybrid coatings it was used as disperse phase two type of plastic materials: phenol-formaldehyde resin and epoxy resin. Polarization was used to measure the corrosion rate and behaviour of zinc and hybrid coatings in 3.5% NaCl solution. Tafel curves show that the including particles of plastic materials in zinc matrix disturbs the cathodic reactions and reduces anodic reaction leading to decrease of corrosion current and increase the corrosion resistance of hybrid coatings obtained at the same electrodeposition parameters as zinc coatings. To obtain the maximum amount of energy, the appropriate technology must be applied to waste treatment. The composition and characteristics of municipal solid wastes are determinant for technologies choice for MSW in a city/region. Municipal authorities from the Galati city proposed a recovery rate of recyclable materials of 60% from MSW and treatment of the post-recycling MSW as follow: biodegradable fraction by anaerobic digestion and the combustible fraction by incineration or gasification. The aim of the present work is to identify the expected nearshore and offshore impact of a marine... more The aim of the present work is to identify the expected nearshore and offshore impact of a marine energy farm that would be implemented in the coastal environment of Portugal. Several layouts of Wave Dragon devices were considered, the distance between each system being gradually adjusted. By processing 27–years of combined wave data coming from the European Space Agency and ERA5, the most relevant conditions have been identified. The centre of each farm layout was set to approximately 3.5 km from the coast, where a more significant attenuation of wave heights in the middle of the target area was noticed, which can go up to 16% in the case of extreme events. From the analysis of the longshore currents, it was noticed that even an arrow farm layout defined by five systems may have a significant impact, by changing the peak or by smoothing the currents profile. In Romania, massive investments have been made in wastewater treatment stations, which have resulted in the accumulation of important quantities of sewage sludge. The presence of these sewage sludges coincides with large areas of degraded agricultural land. The aim of the present article is to identify the best technological combinations meant to solve these problems simultaneously. Adapting the quality and parameters of the sludge to the specificity of the land solves the possible compatibility problems, thus reducing the impact on the environment. The physico-chemical characteristics of the fermented sludge were monitored and optimal solutions for their treatment were suggested so as to allow that the sludge could be used in agriculture according to the characteristics of the soils. The controlled lamination of thick sheets involves the use of algorithms for choosing the rolling... more The controlled lamination of thick sheets involves the use of algorithms for choosing the rolling parameters: the initial heating temperature, the lamination scheme (the distribution of the total thickness reduction on each rolling cage, the number of passes through each cage and the distribution of the thickness reduction on each passage, intermediate cooling - cooling time and speed), and the temperature of the product obtained at the end of the rolling. The complexity of the phenomena, which occur during the hot plastic deformation process and which must be sufficiently well mastered in order to obtain reproducibly the technical specifications imposed on the products with different destinations, is the justification for this work. The data provided by Arcelor-Mittal Galati was used to obtain the mathematical model. Equations that correlate the main mechanical characteristics with the chemical composition of the steel and the parameters of the hot rolling pattern used are presented.

Our UAV is a flying wing type and is able to take off with a little boost. This system happily combines some major advantages taken from planes namely the ability to fly horizontal, at a constant altitude and of course, the great advantage of a long flight-time. The aerodynamic models presented in this paper are optimized to improve the operational performance of this aerial vehicle, especially in terms of stability and the possibility of a long gliding flight-time. Both aspects are very important for the increasing of the goals� efficiency and for the getting work jobs. The composite material (AACW-UPR) was synthesised through mixture between the Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Waste (AACW) as filler and Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR) as matrix. Several samples of the composite material with different UPR concentrations (50 and 70 vol.%) and different AACW particle size (0.2-1 mm, 1.5-2.5 mm, 3-6 mm) were prepared. The thermal behaviour and the water absorption capacity of the AACW-UPR composite materials were studied. Also, the influence of water absorption capacity on thermal resistance and thermal conductivity was studied. During the investigations we noticed the following: good chemical compatibility between the AACW particles and the UPR matrix; a decrease in thermal conductivity for samples with 50 vol.% UPR and inserted particles size between 3-6 mm and an increase in water absorption capacity with the increase in the filler content...
