An optically-based measurable derived from directing incident light on the solution is generated. The concentration of glucose in the bodily fluid using the measurable is then determined which permits the blood glucose level to be derived.

We demonstrate that symmetric intramolecular charge transfer enhances three-photon absorption on conjugated systems.

In this technique the sample is illuminated by a focused Gaussian beam. An aperture is placed between the sample and the detector, and the light transmitted through the aperture is monitored as the sample is moved along the propagation path of the beam through the focal region. The transmittance of another probe beam that is distorted with the refractive index changes caused by the illuminating beam, may be measured as well in the so called two-color extension of this technique [2,3]

We demonstrate that three-photon absorption is enhanced by extending the conjugated bridge of those systems.

Additionally, an analysis of the main mechanism was done based on the spectra polarization dependence.

The extraordinary physicochemical properties of metal particles as they approach the nanometer scale have increased the interest of physicists and chemists in nanoscience [4]. Matter at this size scale has been demonstrated to outperform in a wide variety of applications, such as catalysis [5], environmental [6], biological labeling and sensing [7, 8], surface Raman scattering [9], nonlinear absorption processes [10], photonics [11], and optoelectronics [12]. Nanoscience has additionally had a strong impact in biophotonics through radiative decay engineering (RDE) of organic dye molecules in the close vicinity of conducting metal surfaces or covalently attached to them [13–15]. Most of the applications explored so far are based on the well-known surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect [16].
