Een dergelijke houding schiet niet alleen moreel tekort maar is ook onverstandig en zal als een boemerang naar ons terugkeren. Zowel het verminderen van de migratiedruk als de vergroting van de capaciteit zal investeringen vergen van Marshallplanproporties, en een hernieuwd commitment van overheid en burgers aan rechten en plichten die passen bij het perspectief van een goede samenleving.
