Beras merah dan jagung sudah lama diketahui bermanfaat bagi kesehatan, selain sebagai pangan poko... more Beras merah dan jagung sudah lama diketahui bermanfaat bagi kesehatan, selain sebagai pangan pokok. Namun beras merah dan jagung kurang populer sebagai makanan pokok masyarakat padahal kedua jenis pangan ini merupakan pangan fungsional yang sangat berguna. Maka dikenalkan cara lain untuk pemanfaatan kedua bahan ini dengan mengolahnya menjadi tepung beras merah dan tepung jagung untuk pembuatan mie. Metode. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah ceramah dan praktek. Praktek dilakukan untuk memberikan keterampilan kepada masyarakat dalam membuat mie dari tepung beras merah dan tepung jagung. Hasil.. Praktek pembuatan mie tepung beras merah dan tepung jagung yang dilakukan juga berhasil menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam pengolahan beras merah dan jagung. Pelatihan yang telah dilakukan ini memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Terjun Marelan, dalam pemanfaatan beras merah dan jagung yang diolah menjadi tepung sebagai bahan untuk pembuatan mie yang merupakan pangan fungsional Impilikasi yang dihasilkan. Termanfaatnya beras merah dan jagung yang dibuat menjadi tepung sebagai bahan pembuatan mie sebagai pangan yang fungsional. Diharapkan peran aktif peserta untuk menyebarluaskan informasi tentang pemanfaatan beras merah dan jagung kepada masyarakat di sekitar mereka.

Breast milk is the best food for the babys first and that is natural,contains a variety of nutrie... more Breast milk is the best food for the babys first and that is natural,contains a variety of nutrients needed in the process of growth and development of infants. Bananas crew is a type of banana that is often given mothers to babies as breast milk in Aceh, but is still found giving the crew improrer bananas and given to infants under 6 months. Feeding too early can cause gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, vomiting, constipation. The purpose of research is to determine the pattern of breastfeeding, complementary feeding (bananas crew), nutritional status and the incidence of gastrointestinal disorders in infants aged 0 - 6 months in Sungai Pauh District of Kuala Langsa Kota Langsa. This study was descriptive cross-sectional design. The study sample consisted of 32 infants aged 0-6 months. Data about the patterns of breastfeeding and complementary feeding (banana crew) as well as gastrointestinal disorders was obtained through interviews with the babys mother. Weight (BB) was obtained by weighing the baby and body length (PB) by measuring the length of the body. The data has been analyzed descriptively. The results showed that most infants in Sungai Pauh crew fed baanas to the granting of the most widely performed include morning and afternoon (57,1%), frequency of administration as much as ≤ 3 times or 2 times a day (66,7%), means granting crew bananas crushed and screened (61,9%), giving total quantity of 1 piece (71,4%) and the age of first granted since 0 months (42,9%). Breasfeeding patterns that most people do consist of granting non-scheduled time (77,8%), the frequency of ≥ 8 times (81,5%) and duration of ≥ 15 minutes (81,5%). Most babies have normal nutritional status based index of BB/U, PB/U, BB/PB. Digestive tract disorders occur most commonly in infants under 6 months of age with digestive disorders such as constipation (50%). It is advisable for the health center in order to improve the provision of counseling about bananas crew for babies over 6 months in order to decrease gastrointestinal tract disorders, in addition to the extension of the customary “peucicap” to be carried out as a gesture of course that exclusive breastfeeding is reached. Anemia is a condition when the number of red blood cells or the amount of hemoglobin (the oxygen-... more Anemia is a condition when the number of red blood cells or the amount of hemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein) in red blood cells is below normal. Anemia is one of the problems that contributed to the increase in infant mortality. Binjai is the one city that can be said that the baby gets food intake only from a mother's breast. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between the consumption patterns of foods that contain iron moms breastfeeding with anemia in infants in 3 sub-district with a number of the highest maternal and infant, that is East Binjai district, North Binjai district and Binjai district. This research was an observational with cross-sectional design. Total population of infants are 1697, with a samples size of 60 people. Sampling was done by cluster sampling techniques / sampling area. The data obtained from the study is the quantity of iron consumption and energy sufficiency daily moms breastfeeding. Methods of data collection is done by using the form food recall 2x24 hour and food frequency form. The relationship between the incidence of anemia and iron sufficiency level is taken by the Chi-square test with p <0.05. The results showed the kind of food that is often consumed foods low in iron by 95% and rarely consumed foods high in iron by 5%. Likewise with energy sufficiency level that is less fulfilled by 63.3% and were met by 23.3%. The results also show that there is not a relationship between the pattern of consumption of foods containing iron with the incidence of anemia in infants (p = 0.222). Based on the research results, it is recommended that mothers in order to further improve the consumption of energy, protein and iron by utilizing sources of iron are diverse and for the health center to be more longer in outreach / information related to the incidence of anemia in infants is mainly an extension of moms breastfeeding mothers about food which should be consumed day. The risk factor which caused by DM disease is an unbalanced diet and individual factor which is family support to the DM patients. This research is to find out the describe of diet and family support for DM patients which are not hospitalized. This research is a survey research with cross sectional design with a sample is DM patients who is not hospitalized in RSU Dr.Pirngadi Medan as many as 100 persons were obtained by accidental sampling. The data which used is a primary data obtained through interview by using 24 hours food recall form, food frequency form and supporting family questioner, beside of primary data also using secondary data were obtained from medical records of RSU Dr.Pirngadi Medan. In research the characteristics of patient mostly aged 51-60 years old, female. Energy intake, carbohydrate, protein and cholesterol for DM patients generally falls in under category which is not appropriate. The meal time of those patient diabetes melitus should more than 3 hours. Family support is good 44% with an appropriate diet and lack of family support is 54,1% with a food pattern is not appropriate. Recommended to health care raise of service the information to patient with diabetes melitus so as to more discipline admission of food pattern, and to the patient with diabetes melitus so as comply food pattern as requested, so that they can develop good habits and focused on the health living. Over nutrition is considered as the early signal of the coming of degeneratif disease such as Coronary Heart Disease. The attempt efforts to overcome and to prevent Coronary Heart Disease is by regulating food consumption pattern especially by controlling the fat supplied by the food consumed. The purpose of this study was to find out the between the food consumption patternand the level of total blood cholesterol in Civil Servants in the regional Office of Directorate General of Treasury, the Province of Sumatera Utara, Medan with cross-sectional design. The primary data for this study were obtained by distributing questionaires containing food consumption, characteristic, total blood cholesterol, measurement of Civil Servants. The secondary data were obtained from general description of the regional Office of Directorate General of Treasury, the Province of Sumatera Utara, Medan. The correlation between the food consumption pattern and the level of cholesterol was descriptively analyzed through Exact-Fisher statistic test at α = 0.05. The result of this study showed that most of the Civil servants often consumed aminal food (1-3 times a week) such as eggs, chicken, beef/mutton, ampele, shrimp/squid/crab and other food containing fat such as fried and coconut-milk contained food. The average total blood cholesterol was 120.8 mg/dl, most of the energy consumed by the Civil Servants was good (80%) and there was no correlation between energy consumption and the level of total blood cholesterol (p=0.768). fat energy consumption was higher (75%), therefore, there was a significant correlation between fat energy consumption and the level of total blood cholesterol (p=0.001), between saturated fatty acid intake and the level of blood cholesterol (p=0.002), and between unsaturated fatty acid intake and the level of total blood cholesterol (p=0.001). The Civil Servants are suggested to control their consumption pattern by reducing to consumed fat and controling the frequncy or eating fat and cholesterol containing food. Yellow squash and catfish have the potential as a source of nutrients because it contains a number of macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients. The purpose of this study was to determine the nutrient content of energy and protein biscuits and test the acceptance of pumpkin flour and catfish organoleptic analysis covering the taste, aroma, color, and texture of the biscuit is determined by using a hedonic scale.This study is an experimental research making biscuits with the addition of pumpkin flour and catfish by 20 %, 30 %, and 40 %. Meanwhile, the protein content using the method Kjeldhal, fat extraction method, carbohydrate hydrolysis method, and energy by using the method of calculations carried out in the laboratory of Research and Standardization Agency for Industrial Field. Panelists in this study was the son of SD Negeri No. 067 097 Medan, as many as 30 people, FKM USU students as much as 30 people, and pregnant women at the Maternity Clinic as many as 30 people. The results showed that pumpkin flour biscuits and catfish has an energy content of 40% and a high protein and low in carbohydrates and fat. Based on the results of organoleptic test showed that the addition of flour biscuits with pumpkin and catfish include aroma, color, flavor, and texture are the most preferred and pumpkin flour biscuits catfish 20 % in primary school children. Advised the public to be able to make biscuits and pumpkin flour catfish as a food supplement for pregnant women and for children of primary school age and developmental growth. Also, further research needs to be done on making pumpkin flour biscuits and catfish to enhance the flavor and aroma that pregnant women like to eat pumpkin biscuit flour and catfish. The readiness of a woman to have pregnancy depends on physical, mental, emotion, psychological, social and economy preparation. A woman is called physically ready for pregnancy after completing its growth time with the age around 20 years old. The pregnancy in young age can be categorized as high risk because it is included in one of the frequent pregnants, close pregnancy, too old and too young for high morbidity leading into various complication in pregnancy and delivery. The objective of this research is to know nutrition behavior young primigravida in Health Centre of Tanah Tinggi Binjai City in 2012. This research was descriptive with cross sectional design. The population were all pregnant women for the first time under 20 years old for 36 persons in Health Centre of Tanah Tinggi Binjai City in 2012. The collected data was analyzed using computer program, presented in frequency distribution table and analyzed descriptively. The results of research showed that 55,6% young primigravida had low knowledge, 44,4% had low attitude. Energy consumption rate was 44,4% in medium category, and 47,2% was categorized low. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that the behavior of young primigravida was categorized low. It is suggested for Health Department Binjai City to give counseling to add the knowledge of young primigravida regarding the socialization activity for nutrient and high risk of pregnancy in young age. Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for the infants. However, for some reasons mothers opt to add or replace breastmilk. As an alternative for breastfeeding, there is formula milk with different specifications adapted to the infants' needs or condition. This research aims to analysis the difference in body weight of LBW infants fed by breastfeeding or formula milk in the first two weeks of care at Santa Elizabeth Hospital Medan. This research is using cross-sectional design. Samples are 56 LBW infants without infectious disease and nursing for two weeks in Santa Elizabeth Hospital Medan.
