It is important that immunohistochemical evaluation must be employed with the clinical picture, the morphology and when necessary, other ancillary techniques such as molecular genetics and cytogenetic. The present study was conducted to include the morphological typing of the soft tissue tumours with the help of Immunohistochemistry markers. Immunohistochemistry provides an additional tool by which one can analyse poorly differentiated sarcomas and characterize them. Its specificity, sensitivity, cost effectiveness and applicability to routinely processed material, clearly make it an essential part of diagnostic pathological studies for soft tissue tumors. Also an attempt to categorise the soft tissue neoplasm according to World Health Organization [WHO] 2013 classification.

They are the most common malignancy of childhood after leukaemia in overall cancer incidence. Paediatric brain tumours has histomorphological diversified spectrum & differ significantly from their adult counterpart. Present retrospective observational study was carried out to analyse the histomorphological spectrum of Paediatric CNS tumours at tertiary care centre from central India. This study is an attempt to map the rising trend of paediatric brain tumours in central India. This rise may be due to expansion of available neurosurgical services along with advanced imaging modalities in this part of India. Medulloblastoma, Pilocytic astrocytoma, Ependymoma, Craniopharyngioma & Choroid plexus papilloma were among the top five diagnosis in present study.

Hepatic amyloidosis can present as clinicoradiological dido and requires liver biopsy and ancillary histopathological techniques not only to attest the diagnosis but also for typing of amyloidosis. Here, we report a case of hepatic amyloidosis with preserved liver function test despite having massive hepatomegaly.

It is an uncommon disease but, usually shows a highly aggressive clinical course. Amongst the sino-nasal lymphomas, it is the most common type. The non-specific clinical features constitute a major stumbling block in the early diagnosis and management of these lymphomas. We report here a case of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma in a 23-year old male with review of literature.

Although soft tissue ES/PNET are common in clinical practice, they are rare in the small intestine. Because of the absence of characteristic clinical symptoms, they are easily misdiagnosed as other benign or malignant diseases. Case presentation: Here, we present the case of a 16-year-old female who complained of anemia and interval hematochezia. Her serum test results showed only a slight elevation of CA-125 and a low level of hemoglobin. Computer tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a cystic and solid mass in the lower abdominal quadrant and pelvic region, which prompted suspicion of a malignant gastrointestinal stromal tumor of the small intestine. After resection, the tumor's histology and immunohistochemistry (positive for CD99, vimentin and synaptophysin) results suggested ES/PNET. Fluorescent in situ hybridization tests proved the breakpoint rearrangement of the EWSR1 gene in chr 22.Ultrastructural analysis revealed neurosecretory and glycogen granules in the tumor cell cytoplasm. Conclusions: Together, these data supported the diagnosis of a rare case of localized ES/PNET in the small intestine without adjuvant chemo-or radiotherapy. To our knowledge, this is the first report from China of a primary small bowel ES/PNET in the English-language literature. In addition, on the basis of findings from previous publications and the current case, the optimal treatment for localized gastrointestinal ES/PNET is discussed.

It usually presents as a solitary unilateral painless mass at the periphery of the breast. It is characterized by proliferation of epithelial and myoepithelial cells. This benign tumor is known for its recurrence and metastatic potential. Hence accurate diagnosis with close follow up is mandatory. We report a rare case of adenomyoepithelioma in a 38-year-old female who presented with a painless lump of 3 × 2 cm size in the left breast for 3 months.

By this method it is difficult to give definitive diagnosis particularly to the cases where some abnormal cells seen suspicious of malignancy. In our study we utilized cell lock technique for reporting body fluid cytology. Objectives: Our objective is to prepare cellblock from body fluid, to use it for diagnosis of benign and malignant lesions and also to check advantage and drawbacks of cell block technique over the conventional cytology examination. Materials and Method: This study was carried out in medical collage hospital in Department of Pathology. We selected total 52 body fluids with good cellularity for cell block preparation. Result: Out of 52 cases 45 were diagnosed as benign and 7 as malignant using cell block technique. Conclusion: We conclude with findings that cell block technique is better than routine cytology technique. By cell block technol...

Extensive chondroid differentiation is even rarer in metaplastic breast carcinoma (MBC). Here, we report a case of metaplastic chondroid carcinoma of the breast with very few areas showing usual ductal carcinoma and pseudosarcomatous areas. The tumor was characterized by an abundant chondromyxoid matrix. The definitive areas of classic invasive ductal carcinoma were very few. The peripheral portion of the tumor showed increased cellularity with pleomorphism and invasive growth pattern with giant tumor cells. This case is presented for its rarity and also of a diagnostic challenge, especially if the tumor is composed mainly of sarcomatous elements with extensive chondroid differentiation. Standard chemotherapy regimens are ineffective against MBC.

Increasing prevalence of hypertension among rural/tribal population is a concern for India. Therefore the study was undertaken to estimate the prevalence of hypertension and its correlates among the adult tribal population, Maharashtra State. Materials & Methods: A community based cross-sectional study was carried out, during April 2007 to March 2009, in tribal areas of Maharashtra, covering a total of 4,348 adults of ≥ 20 years of age. Bivariate and multivariate regression analysis was done to study association between hypertension and various socio-demographic, behavioral factors and overweight/obesity. Results: The overall prevalence of hypertension was 23% and was significantly higher among men (28%, CI=26-29.9) as compared to women (19%, CI=17.4-20.6). Regression analysis showed that the risk of hypertension was 1.5 times among those engaged in service/business (CI=1.02-2.40) and among housewives (CI=1.17-2.21). Overweight/obesity and central obesity had 2 times higher risk of hypertension (BMI ≥23, CI=1.38-2.60), (OR for Central obesity 1.68, CI=1.19-2.38). Alcohol consumption and tobacco snuffing was significantly (p<0.01) associated with risk of hypertension. Conclusions: Prevalence of hypertension is a major public health problem among tribal population and appropriate intervention strategies are needed for prevention and control of hypertension such as increasing awareness, promoting physical activity by reducing overweight/obesity and change in risk behaviour. INTRODUCTION Non-communicable diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are on rise even in developing countries including India due to epidemiological, nutritional, demographic, socio-economic

They constitute the most common ovarian tumor in childhood. However, it is sparsely seen in postmenopausal woman. Malignant transformation is seen in approximately 2% of all cases of MCT and risk gets doubled in postmenopausal woman. Here, we present a case report of MCT occurring in postmenopausal multiparous woman masquerading as lithopaedion on imaging which is a rare phenomenon. Thus, the mystery behind Monsters egg is finally resolved by morphology.

This study was undertaken to study prognostic value of histological subtypes and pTNM stage and grade of the malignant renal tumor. Nephrectomy specimen from 36 patients were studied. Patient's clinical details, preoperative imaging and surgical details were reviewed. Each specimen was staged according to the 2017 AJCC TNM staging. Nuclear grade was assigned according to the revised WHO/ISUP grade. Statistical Methods: Statistical analysis was performed using statistical software and descriptive statistics and survival functions were obtained by Kaplan-Meier product limit method. Univariate and multivariate analysis of factors affecting outcome of the patient were performed. Factors that were found to be significant on Univariate analysis were then subjected to multivariate analysis by Cox proportional hazards regression model Results: Mean follow up period was 26.3 months (range 3 to 63 months). Univariate analysis revealed that histologic types stage and grade were statistically significant (P=0.009,0.007 and 0.003 respectively). Multivariate analysis model revealed that ISUP nuclear grade and stage were statistically significant (P=0.007 and 0.002 respectively). Conclusion: This study emphasizes the pathological pTNM (AJCC) 2017 staging as having significant survival impact in the patients of Renal Cancer in the Indian subpopulation. In these patients Histologic subtype and nuclear WHO/ISUP grade are important independent predictors of survival.Organ confined tumours with high nuclear grades need to be followed up more rigorously.
