Serious game interventions can increase awareness of health and obesity, especially among children, and the effectiveness of these interventions depends on specific game elements. This review aimed to identify the most common game elements in serious game interventions for raising awareness about obesity in children. We conducted a literature search in the ACM digital library, IEEE Xplore, and Scopus databases for serious games designed and developed for obesity or health awareness. The extracted game elements are based on a pyramid with three categories: components, mechanics, and dynamics, according to Werbach and Hunter (2012). Each dimension, or category, consisted of various game elements. 1349 articles were identified. We found 27 game elements distributed across the 17 selected studies. The most common game elements were 'Points,' 'Quests,' 'Challenges,' 'Feedbacks,' 'Constraints,' 'Progression,' 'Avatar,' 'Win States,' 'Achievement,' and 'Rewards.' Serious game interventions for health promotion in children include multiple game elements that are crucial in designing and developing a game. The inclusion of these game elements depends on the learning outcomes and the purpose of the game.

Design: Systematic review. Data sources: Five databases-PubMed, Web of Sciences, Scopus, Science Direct and Google Scholar were searched systematically from June 18 to July 12, 2022. Methods: Predefined keywords of "social media", "nutrition", "behaviour" and "adolescents" were used. The inclusion criteria: (1) 10 to 24 years old participants; (2) social media or website as intervention platform; (3) intervention outcomes related to improvement in nutrition behaviour, anthropometric measures, knowledge and awareness; (4) is a randomized controlled trial, non-randomized controlled trial, cluster controlled, cohort, case control or before and after study design; (5) published in 2000 until 2022; (6) written or translated is English; and (7) conducted in Asia. Results: Review eligibility included nine studies. Three research were web-or website-based, while the other six used social media such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and LINE. Post-intervention outcomes showed significant gains, however some studies found no differences between the intervention and control groups. Conclusion: Social media is a widely accepted platform for educating adolescents about nutrition for behaviour change. However, the evidence shows that the interventions are lack of significant improvement between groups and the used of digital or technological-related theory, model and framework. This review demonstrated the progress of healthy behaviours in nutrition and health literacy among adolescents that can be spread through social network and the value of new technological techniques in managing the targeted population.

Given the various data on the nutritional status of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children, it is imperative to conduct a detailed nutritional assessment of the local population. This study compares ASD with typical developing (TD) children to determine the weight status and association of mealtime behavior with dietary intake in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Methods: A total of 106 children aged five to nine years old participated in this cross-sectional study. Sociodemographic were assessed through self-administered questionnaires. The body weight and height were collected; the body mass index (BMI) was calculated. A three-day food record and a Brief Autism Mealtime Behavior Inventory (BAMBI) data were obtained from the caretakers. Results: More than one-third (39%) of the ASD children were overweight or obese compared to TD children (23%). However, there is a significant difference (X2=10.29, p=0.03) when TD children were categorized as stunted and severely stunted. Meanwhile, the total energy intake was statistically significant (X 2 =9.53, p=0.008). The majority (88.2%) of ASD children experience problems in mealtime behavior characteristically limited food acceptance with a mean score of (28.78±6.80). Mealtime behavior was not associated with energy, carbohydrate, protein, and fat when the p>0.05. Conclusion: Even though there was no association of mealtime behavior with dietary intake, the BMI was significantly influenced by excessive daily calorie consumption. Because of growth parameters influence physical development, nutritional intervention program should be carried out in order to improve nutritional status of AS children.

However, little is known about the impact of IBT and how the IoT is used to manage hypertension. This article analysed the types of IBT, the features of IoT and the impact of IBT. This review included 14 articles selected from the following databases: Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. Randomised controlled trials (RCT) and quasi-experimental studies published from 2014 to 2021 in English focused on managing dietary intake and physical activity (PA) via IBT for hypertensive adults were included. The IoT features, Mobile IoT and Wi-Fi communication protocols were covered by three articles while six digital platforms (smartphone applications, email, WeChat, url, web page and online multimedia) were utilised for the non-pharmacological management. The current review identified the important features of IoT and how implementing IBT in hypertension management can effectively improve blood pressure and bring about behavioural and psychological changes. Finally, this study highlighted only limited IoT systems that had been integrated into IBT, thus, warranting the need for further studies in the future.

Nearly 1.9 billion overweight adults aged 18 and up were estimated to be obese in 2016 World Health Organization (WHO), 2019. Sogari et al. (2018) stated that physical inactivity and unhealthy dietary habits are two of the most common behaviours that can have a negative impact on young adults' weight and health status. Significantly, one-third of university students were overweight or obese (Rabanales-Sotos et al., 2020). Previous study results showed that the overall prevalence of overweight and obesity among Malaysian university students is 21.2% and 16.3%, respectively (Wan Mohamed Radzi et al., 2019). Furthermore, the specific prevalence of overweight and obesity among bachelor's students was 23% and 17.6%, respectively, 21.9% and 14.3% among master's students, and 17.8% and 18.4% among PhD students (Wan Mohamed Radzi et al., 2019). The number of obese or overweight students is increasing due to the transition from high school to college, especially for first-year college students who must adjust to a new academic, social, and personal Background: Obesity is the most common health concern among the public worldwide. Weight gain among students occurred during their college years, when physical activity and dietary patterns were observed to change. The Health Belief Model (HBM) depicts the role of anticipating and justifying the causes of a person's transformation or maintenance of specific health behaviors. Objective: This study determines the prevalence of obesity and the differences in weight management behaviours with gender among university students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam Campus, Selangor, involving 377 respondents (122 males and 255 females) aged 18-26 years from February to April 2021. Health Belief Model (HBM) questionnaire on Weight Management Behaviors was used as a research tool in this study. Results: The findings showed that the majority of the respondents have a normal Body Mass Index (BMI) (n=214, 56.8%), followed by overweight (n=66, 17.5%), underweight (n=63, 16.7%) and obese (n=34, 9.0%). Independent t-test showed that female students significantly have more perceived susceptibility and cues to action than males (p<0.05). While, male students significantly have a high score in weight management behaviour for perceived benefits, perceived self-efficacy in dieting, and behavioural intention of weight management compared to female (p<0.05). Conclusion: Health interventions such as nutrition education regarding healthy food preparation and exercise schedule, including duration and types of activity, should increase female students' motivation and confidence in managing weight. Besides, an awareness campaign regarding the risk of obesity focusing on the male students must be created to generate awareness and prevention of obesity.
