The study involved all the management employees who include head of department of the county government. There were 63 managerial staff who were involved in the study. The study adopted descriptive research design. The study adopted a census sample design since the target population was manageable and the respondents were within systems that can be accessed easily hence the sample size which was 63 respondents. The questionnaire was used to collect the data from the sample. Descriptive statistics which includes frequencies and percentages were used. Pearson correlation was used in hypothesis testing. The analyzed data was thereafter be presented for better comparison using tables. The study concludes that successful formulation of strategic plan has taken root among the County governments. The study concluded that there no leadership training that equips leaders on strategic plans formulation. The study recommends that the leadership should provide the required

This study aimed to determine the relationship between training and compensation practices on employee performance in public universities in Kenya. The objectives of the study were to determine the effect of training on employee performance in public universities in Kenya, and to establish the effect of compensation practices on employee performance in public universities in Kenya. A survey approach was used. The study targeted all 201 Office Administration Officers working in six public universities in Mt. Kenya Region. Mt. Kenya region comprises the counties of Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Tharaka Nithi, Embu and Meru. A questionnaire consisting of demographic questions and a 5-point Likert Scale was used to collect data. Qualtrics survey was utilized to administer the questionnaire. Out of 201 sets of questionnaires distributed, 176 responses were generated, representing a response rate of 88%. Descriptive statistics in form of tables, frequencies and percentages were used to present the analysed data. Cronbachs alpha was used to assess the reliability of instruments, while content validity was assessed through reviews of items. Data was tested to ensure that it did not violate regression assumptions. The study revealed that workers’ performance was significantly influenced by training practice (p 0.05). The study, therefore, concluded that training and compensation practices were associated with increased performance of the workers in public universities in Kenya. The results imply that the management of public universities needs to focus on improvement of each of the aforementioned practices through the establishment of relevant policies. The study is based on a sample of 420 respondents drawn from three retail stores belonging to three tier one retail chains in Nairobi-Kenya. Structural equation modeling is used to test the relationships between social-sensory experience, social value, and store image and purchase intention in a moderated mediated context. The software SPPS with process macro is used to compute the moderated mediated relationship using bootstrapping. The results show that store image moderates the mediated relationship between social-sensory experience and purchase intention via social value. The study contributes to the study on consumer behavior by demonstrating the complex interactions of key influencers in the consumer decision making process. Managers need to ensure that store environments are designed in a manner that they will offer a...

This study proposed a conceptual model to show how the interactions of emotional experience, utilitarian value and store image influences shoppers purchase intention. The study finds that emotional experience significantly relates to both utilitarian value and purchase intention. Moreover, utilitarian value was confirmed to be a significant mediator in this relationship. In addition, store image emerged as a significant moderator in both the emotional experience-utilitarian value relationships and also in the entire model. The results confirm the complex and contextual nature of consumer decision making processes. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed together with gaps for possible future research directions.

The sample consists of 420 retail customers selected using the store intercept method. Process macro program is used to test the sequential mediating effect. The results of the study show that both social value and hedonic value individually mediates the relationship between emotional experience and purchase intention. The census approach was utilized to collect data from 42 board members of the 8 Saccos. Questionnaires were used to collect data. The method for the administration of the questionnaires was the drop-and-pick method. The study conducted a pre-test study where 5 board members from Menany Sacco in Maua were considered. They were selected through simple random sampling method. The reliability of the instruments was determined by Cronbach's alpha while content validity was determined through expert reviews on the quality of questions in the questionnaires. Data analysis was done using SPSS software which analyzed the data using means, percentages, and frequencies, and inferential statistics. The pre...

A survey of 380 smallholder cereal farmers was carried out in Buuri Sub-County. Access to markets is a vital requirement for the smallholder farmers to reap the benefits associated with farming. Singh (2012) noted that any effort on poverty reduction especially in Africa are closely linked to small farms with the livelihood of 2.2 billion people still linked to small scale agriculture. Descriptive research was adopted for this study, data was collecting using well structured and validated questionnaires. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to analyse the dataset while a logistic regression analysis was conducted. The research established that availability of market information has a significant effect on market access while source and cost of market information did not have an effect on market access. The study recommends tha...
