Faced with problems of school maladjustment, school failure or even school dropout that ruled out the involvement of cognitive factors, schools began to consider the possibility that these issues may be the consequence of subjective factors related to motivation, emotional balance or the ability to cope. In this context, there is the question of cultivating such skills in students that, on the one hand, reduce the likelihood of maladaptive behaviour and, on the other, help shape a balanced, creative and autonomous personality. Our study is based on the desire to investigate the possible relationship between the level of students' adaptation to the academic environment and their academic performance record. We used the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ), an instrument created to measure the level of adaptation of students to the university environment. The general scores obtained by the students from the 1st year and from the 3rd year are analysed in a comparative way.

Out of the need to sort out this contradiction, we developed a Master program that should make available the latest teaching-learning strategies and methods to the teachers who are interested in the matter. The purpose of this study is to highlight the reasons why teachers prefer short and ineffective training courses, instead of attending a Master program.

It is very difficult for a professor to adapt his or her teaching style to the students' learning style, but if he or she succeeds, the academic performance will rise, gradually becoming stable over time.

Economic crisis, increased unemployment, decreased income, and increased poverty on the one hand, the absence of viable social protection measures, on the other hand, triggered at the social level, the belief that ensuring acceptable living conditions in the country is impossible. In this context, migration of workforce has acquired new dimensions and its effects on family life are more and more obvious. The purpose of our study is, on the one hand, analyzing the current situation of the workforce migration in Romania, showing its main consequences on the family structure, inter-familiar relations, children's psychological development and social integration and, on the other hand, offering some viable solution to suppress the negative effects of such a phenomenon.

Thus, stress has been identified as one of the major scourges of our modern era. It seems that not only adults but also children are affected; pupils and students are also experiencing stressful life situations that can be harmful to their overall condition and health. The transition from pre-academic to academic education, the need to adapt to independent living, to gain insight into new social networks, to comply with high academic requirements constitute potential stressors that may affect the performance of students. Considering all these issues a comprehensive assessment of stress is required, from the perspective of the authors in the field, from analyzing the views of students in the research group and from formulating a personal opinion which can support the effort to reduce stress using coping strategies so that the...

Our study tackles the issues of increasing the quality of professional counseling/guidance in Romania, starting from the experiences recently acquired by the implementation of the European project DAQOR, a project which aims at transferring the AQOR indicators towards new users, achieving mutual knowledge and exchange of good practices in the field of guidance among partners in 5 European countries. The current situation of professional counseling/ guidance in Romania, the stages gone through during the process of implementation of AQOR indicators, the guidelines and the difficulties encountered during the process are only a few aspects that we tried to outline in the current study.

An ever-increasing number of studies demonstrate that the civic spirit and tolerance on the job are directly proportional to the team productivity and to the economic performance of the organisation, and the Romanian state offers fiscal facilitations to encourage the civic spirit. However, although in Romania there live more than 600 000 people with disabilities (acc. to ANPH), while 50% of them could be integrated on the labour market (in their case, their handicap affects activity only partially), only 5% of them are actually hired. In the herby study, our purposes are: to identify the resources that are necessary in the recruitment/selection process of the people with disabilities; to build up a specific counselling program of the people with disabilities with a view to fructifying their individual potential and to guaranteeing equal opportunities in their career development by means of a process of acknowledging the competences acquired as a result of their work experience, in protected workshops or outside them.
