Salah satu upaya menggali nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yaitu melalui teks cerita rakyat. Ada banyak cerita rakyat dari Nusa Tenggara Timur khususnya dari pulau Sumba dapat dapat digunakan untuk diajarkan pada peserta didik di sekolah. Salah satunya adalah cerita rakyat yang berjudul Ndelo Mono Kyase. Cerita rakyat ini dikisahkan dengan keunikannya tersendiri sesuai dengan latar belakang budaya dan nilai kehidupan masyarakat setempat. The aim of this research is to identify types of code mixing in the Whatsapp group conversations ... more The aim of this research is to identify types of code mixing in the Whatsapp group conversations of the 6th Batch Teaching Campus Coordinator. The research method uses descriptive qualitative by identifying research objects in the form of Whatsapp conversation data sent by group members. The data taken is a written document that has been documented in the group as part of written communication between university coordinator members throughout Indonesia. Data collection and analysis techniques in this research used three stages, namely identification, classification and interpretation. The research results show that in the Whatsapp group for the 6th Batch Teaching Campus coordinator, there is a code mixing used by group members. The types of code mixing include: 1) Intra Sentential Mixing, namely the use of code mixing at the phrase and clause level; 2) Intra Lexical Mixing, namely the use of code mixing at the word level. The words, phrases and clauses that are often used come from Javanese and English; while in type 3) Involving a Change of Pronunciation, in the form of sound (phonological elements) is not found in written communication in this Whatsapp group.

All folklores in this island certainly have their own character education values. One of them is the one entitled Watu Maladong. This folklore was told with its own uniquenessin accordance with the cultural background and values of the life of the local community. The purpose of the study was to analyze the form of character education valuesin the folklore of Watu Maladong. The research method used was descriptive qualitative method and analytical technique using content analysis. Novel menceritakan curahan hati manusia yang di dalamnya berisi pengalaman, ide, perasaan dan kerinduan dari penulis yang dituangkan dalam suatu cerita fiksi sebuah prosa. Setiap prosa fiksi memiliki unsur-unsur intrinsik dan ekstrinsik yang membangun suatu cerita sehingga menjadi menarik bagi pembacanya. Causative Clause Construction of Wewewa Language: A Morphosyntactic Study

This was classified as qualitative research. The object of this research was the Wewewa language on Southwest Sumba regency in East Nusa Tenggara province. The data were collected through observation and interview with some informants. The result of this research showed that based on formal parameter; there are three categories to form causative construction. The first is analytic causative that use the causative word tuka "ask; the second is morphological causative construction that use the copy pronoun pa-to be added onto the root of a verb or on an adjective to make it to a causative verb; the third is lexical causative that use some causative lexicons such as todi 'close', etc. Based on the semantic parameter, it was found that true causative and permissive causative are seen from the control given by the agent. Semantic parameter also has the same pattern but has different in meaning.

The aim of this study is to determine the influence of using animation-based interactive learning... more The aim of this study is to determine the influence of using animation-based interactive learning media on English subjects for material of the introduction letters and numbers towards learning motivation of first-grade students at SD Inpres Oepura 3 Kupang City. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The population in this study were 30 students, the sampling technique used the census method because all members of the population were sampled. It was done when the total population was less than 30. Class A was used as a control class with 15 students and class B as an experimental class with 15 students. The instruments used were structured observation sheets and closed questionnaires. Before the questionnaire instrument was distributed, the researcher conducted a validity and reliability test to obtain the validity of the instrument. The results of the validity test showed that 19 items were valid and reliable. The data analysis technique used independent t-test, but before the t-test was conducted, the data analysis requirements were tested, namely normality and homogeneity tests. The results of the normality and homogeneity tests showed that all data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The result of the normality test showed that the value of sig. in the experimental class 0.120 > 0.05 and the control class 0.198 > 0.05. Besides, the homogeneity test showed a significant value of 0.531 > 0.05. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the mean of learning motivation of the experimental class was 73.84 and the learning motivation of the control class was 57.57, which meant 73, 84 > 57.57. Based on the result of the independent sample t-test, it showed a 2-way (t-tailed) significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is significant influence of using animation-based interactive learning media in the first grade of elementary school students.

The Most Effective English Teaching Methods in Rural Schools

Effective teaching methods in many contexts are still a concern when it comes to teaching English... more Effective teaching methods in many contexts are still a concern when it comes to teaching English as a foreign language in Indonesia. It relates to a lack of English proficiency. Even after six years of formal language learning, students can still not acquire productive English abilities such as speaking and writing. This study's main objective is to find the English teachers' perspectives concerning the most effective teaching methods in rural schools throughout four districts, Malaka, Kupang, Timor Tengah Utara, and Timor Tengah Selatan. The mixed-method was administered through a questionnaire, data collected from 26 English teachers at Senior High School who met the criteria. In addition, eight respondents were interviewed to learn how to apply effective methods. The most effective methods of teaching English in rural areas include Suggestopedia, Audio-Lingual Method, Communicative Language Teaching, and Task-Based Language Teaching.

In this research is about code mixing that happens in formal situation where it is in a church in Tarus. This research deals with utterances that are spoken by preachers in GSJA ALFA OMEGA TARUS. This study is focused on code mixing that happens in this church. The purpose of this study is to know the types of code mixing and factors of using code mixing on Sunday preaching in GSJA ALFA OMEGA TARUS. The research is a type of qualitative research that aims to describe the types and factors of using code mixing on Sunday preaching in GSJA ALFA OMEGA TARUS. The data used in this study were taken from informant who are the preacher of GSJA ALFA OMEGA TARUS through observation and interviews in the field. The result shows that all of the theory in chapter two is appropriate with the data that have been collected. All of the utterances from the preachers in GSJA ALFA OMEGA TARUS are related with theory bilingualism and social status. Each language has each own morphology system. It means that each language has it own way to the convey words. One of the famous ethnic languages is spoken by the people in Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The purpose of this research is to identify compound words and types of compound words in the Bilba dialect. The type of this research is qualitative research. The data used in this study were taken from informants who are native speakers of the Bilba dialect. Method using on this study are observation and field interviews. The analysis result shows that compound words in Bilba dialect are formed by the combination of two words that have different meanings in the same and different class of words. In Bilba dialect there are seven processes of compound words that can be classified into three types of compound words namely, compound nouns, compound verbs, and compound adjectives.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan model bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik modeling yang efektif untuk mengurangi perilaku grief siswa. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode Educational research and development, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 10 siswa. Model bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik modeling adalah layanan bimbingan yang diberikan secara kelompok dengan mengaktifkan dinamika kelompok melalui model. Model yang digunakan adalah Live Model dan Symbolic Model. Hasil uji coba lapangan menunjukan tingkat perilaku grief siswa mengalami penurunan. Tingkat perilaku grief siswa sebelum bimbingan kelompok adalah 66,5% dan setelah bimbingan kelompok menurun menjadi 45,69%. Terjadi penurunan sebesar 20,81%.
