After several years of discussion and writing, the Working group on National Bibliographies in th... more After several years of discussion and writing, the Working group on National Bibliographies in the Digital Age has prepared the new guidelines which have just been published. The document addresses the challenges faced by national bibliographic agencies, such as selection, cataloguing and organisational issues. Taking into account that bibliographic control varies greatly from country to country, the document is not prescriptive and lists possible options, illustrated by examples. The Working group would like to encourage national bibliographic agencies to test the guidelines and send their feedback to the Bibliography Section.

La nostra società dovrà, quindi, essere pronta a favorire questo sviluppo e a controllarlo affinché possa essere utile alla causa della democrazia e alla crescita del genere umano.
