In this work, composites made from waste rubber particles (average particle size: 320 mesh) and sisal fiber in unidirectional form with matrix material as epoxy resin were prepared by hand lay-up method & investigated the mechanical properties for the influence of waste rubber particle loading in natural fiber composite. The effect of different loading of waste rubber particle (0,5,10,20 %wt) on the tensile and flexural strength was investigated. The results represent that 5%wt waste rubber particle loading composite shows maximum tensile and flexural strength & further increase in rubber particle loading shows decrease in tensile & flexural strength.
A highly selective and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) assay ... more A highly selective and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) assay has been described for the determination of asenapine (ASE) in presence of its inactive metabolites -desmethyl asenapine (DMA) and asenapine--glucuronide (ASG). ASE, and ASE 13C-d3, used as internal standard (IS), were extracted from 300 µL human plasma by a simple and precise liquid-liquid extraction procedure using methyl -butyl ether. Baseline separation of ASE from its inactive metabolites was achieved on Chromolith Performance RP (100 mm × 4.6 mm) column using acetonitrile-5.0 mM ammonium acetate-10% formic acid (90:10:0.1, v/v/v) within 4.5 min. Quantitation of ASE was done on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer equipped with electrospray ionization in the positive mode. The protonated precursor to product ion transitions monitored for ASE and ASE 13C-d3 were 286.1 → 166.0 and 290.0 → 166.1, respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantitation (LOQ) of the method ...

Thirty participants with first acute stroke within first 3 months with the mean age of 55.73 years participated and were allocated randomly into two groups. Participants were taken from Inpatient Department of Medicine of Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad and Physiotherapy Department of Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad. Both the groups received conventional physiotherapy for 3 weeks. Group A was administered knee gaiter, and Group B was allocated suspended walker. Outcomes/scales were measured in terms of 10-meter walk test (10MWT), 3-min walk test (3MWT), and dynamic gait index (DGI). After the treatment, both the groups showed significant improvement ( < 0.001) in 3MWT, 10MWT, and DGI scores, but Group A shows additional beneficial effect on 3MWT ( = 0.023) and 10MWT ( = 0.754) with using -test and no significant improvement in all the components of the DGI ex...
Mannosylated polymeric nanoparticles (NPs) enable improvement of brain bioavailability and reduct... more Mannosylated polymeric nanoparticles (NPs) enable improvement of brain bioavailability and reduction of dosing due to efficient drug delivery at the target site. Mannose receptors are present on the surface of macrophages, and therefore, in this study, it is expected that mannosylated NPs of anti-human immunodeficiency virus drug may target the macrophages, which may improve the therapeutic outcome and reduce the toxicity of antiretroviral bioactives. Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and mannosylated-PLGA NPs (Mn-PLGA NPs) were prepared and administered by intravenous route in a dose of 10 mg/kg. After predetermined time period, the pharmacokinetics and biodistribution of NPs were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography and confocal microscopy, respectively. Results of this study indicated that Mn-PLGA NPs would be a promising therapeutic system for efficient delivery of the drug into brain macrophages.

Transmission between hosts is primarily vertical, taking place exclusively through the female germline, though horizontal transmission has also been documented. Several studies indicate that Wolbachia is capable of transfer between somatic and germline cells during nematode development and in adult flies. However, the mechanisms underlying horizontal cell-to-cell transfer remain largely unexplored. Here, we establish a tractable system for probing horizontal transfer of Wolbachia between Drosophila cells in culture using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). First, we show that horizontal transfer is independent of cell-to-cell contact and can efficiently take place through the culture medium within hours. Further, we demonstrate that efficient transfer utilizes host cell phagocytic and clathrin/dynamin-dependent endocytic machinery. Lastly, we provide evidence that this process ...
