It presents clinical symptoms and biochemical symptoms which results from proteinuria, hypoproteinemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and hypoalbuminemia. Here, we present the case of a 5-year-old male child who came with pain in his lower left and right back tooth region. He was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome 4.5 years back and undergoing treatment and taking medications for the same. Extractions were done instead of pulp therapy to eliminate any dental sepsis including any teeth which were considered doubtful. All the extractions were performed under suitable antibiotic coverage and with the consultation of physician in charge. Our case report emphasizes on treatment which could reduce the morbidity and potential mortality associated with bacteremia which can be caused by any oral disease or dental procedures in child patients with nephrotic syndrome.

The etiology of this syndrome is unclear since it varies genetically and is linked to a plethora of reasons. Herein, we report a case of Goldenhar syndrome with hemifacial microsomia and microtia along with systemic involvement which was clinically and radiographically assessed. Many classical signs of the syndrome were present in the patient along with few rare ones. The various aspects of this rare disease have been discussed with emphasis on timely diagnosis and multidisciplinary approach to manage it.

The sample was derived from archives of the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology. The following parameters were established for sample inclusion: Indian subjects with normal growth and development, no systemic disease, no dental anomalies, no extractions of permanent teeth (third molars excluded), no history of orthodontic treatment, no history of trauma of teeth and face, and panoramic and lateral cephalometric radiographs available with high clarity and good contrast. A total of 100 subjects (53 males and 47 females) met the inclusion criteria. The radiographic evaluation and staging of each and every record was comprehensively carried out by a single

It is characterized by skin fragility and acral blister formation beginning at birth. We hereby present a case of Kindler syndrome. The case is being reported for its rarity and a number of general features like blistering, cutaneous atrophy, and/or poikilodermatous skin changes and oral features such as gingival swelling, advanced periodontal bone loss, mild-to-severe gingivitis, dental caries, and leukokeratosis of buccal mucosa along with its management.

This report is highlighting a case where LSTR therapy was done using triple antibiotic paste in primary molar showing peri-radicular pathosis and root resorption. On one-year follow-up, the tooth was asymptomatic with reduction in peri-radicular pathosis and root resorption. Thus, LSTR can be successful for nonvital pulp therapy in primary teeth with peri-radicular pathosis and root resorption. And also, LSTR therapy can be used as an alternative option to extraction in treating primary teeth with peri-radicular pathosis.

Accidental ingestion or embedment of the object in hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity is commonly encountered. A thorough history and clinical and radiographic examination aid in the diagnosis and treatment planning in such cases. The present article describes foreign body impaction in the primary tooth of a young child and its successful management along with a review of literature highlighting cases of foreign objects in primary dentition and their retrieval.

MATERIALS AND METHODS This case control study was conducted in New Delhi over a 14-month period. Data were collected from 110 children, of which 55 children had haemophilia and 55 were healthy. Caries was assessed in terms of decayed, missing and filled teeth, according to WHO criteria, while periodontal health status was assessed regarding plaque present, and recorded by utilising the Silness and Löe plaque index. RESULTS In children with haemophilia, overall caries experience was low in the primary dentition as compared to healthy children, with mean dmft of 2.02 ± 2.4 and mean dmfs of 4.71 ± 7.3, as well as in the permanent dentition with a mean DMFT of 0.47 ± 0.87 and mean DMFS of 0.56 ± 1.167. Thus, caries experience was lower in the permanent than in the primary dentition. There was no significant difference between the two groups regarding the periodontal health...

Materials and methods: A total of sixty root canals were prepared and then segregated into two groups (n = 30) as per the drying protocol, namely paper points or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Then, these roots were divided into three subgroups (n = 10) with respective sealers and obturation materials, namely AH Plus and gutta-percha (AH/GP), EndoSequence BC and gutta-percha (EBC/GP), and MTA Fillapex and guttapercha (MFP/GP). The roots were then sectioned from each third, and the push-out test was performed. Failure modes were examined under a stereomicroscope. Data were statistically analyzed by 2-way analysis of variance post hoc Tukey tests with a significant level of 5%. Results: Overall canals dried with isopropyl alcohol showed higher bond strength values than paper point (p < 0.05). The AH/GP group showed lower bond strength than EBC/GP (p < 0.05) but higher than MFP/GP (p < 0.05). The most frequent type of failure was cohesive in the AH/GP group and adhesive in the EBC/GP group whereas MFP/GP had almost similar adhesive and cohesive failures. Conclusion: Seventy percent isopropyl alcohol drying improved the bond strength of the root canal sealers with the dentinal tubules better than the ideal paper point drying.

Its management with Er,Cr:YSGG laser has been proven effective. In the present case a teenage patient reported with a bluish lesion, soft inconsistency on the dorsal aspect of tongue. The lesion was removed with Er, Cr: YSGG laser (2780 nm) with minimal anaesthetic infiltration. Patient reported no postoperative pain. Clinical follow up after three months showed excellent results and uneventful healing. Er,Cr:YSGG laser showed high clinical safety. Its advantages resulted in excellent healing of lesion and better acceptance by patient.

These children have specific physical limitations. To fulfill their nutritional requirement, these children need modifications in order to thrive and grow. Failure to adjust to these needs could place the children into a potential life-threatening situation. One of the immediate problems to be addressed in a newborn with cleft lip/palate is difficulty in feeding. Nasal regurgitation and choking are common because of inability of the palate to separate the nasal and oral cavities. The case presented here discusses the management of feeding problem in the infant with cleft lip/palate.

Both the anomalies are mostly reported as isolated finding and are rarely associated with other dental anomalies. Talon cusp is more common in maxillary anterior teeth in permanent dentition and fusion is commonly reported in mandibular teeth in primary dentition. The concomitant occurrence of talon cusp and fusion is rare and its occurrence in fused mandibular permanent teeth is also rare. This case report presents two unusual cases of concomitant occurrence of talon cusp with fusion in permanent mandibular incisors. The clinical problems associated with these dental anomalies and importance of their management are discussed in these case reports.
