Individual's lifestyle, environment, dietary habits, physical and mental fitness are associated with each other. Generally, youngsters adopt unhealthy dietary habits, such as poor diet, little or no milk intake, meal skipping, preference for energy dense over nutrient dense diet, and inadequate intake of vegetables and fruits. During their university life, students face many changes including poor dietary choices, study stress, anxiety, depression, food insecurity, skipping meals, poor fruit and milk consumption. All of this may lead to many chronic diseases later in life. Processed food causes a lot of health issues. Individuals are more susceptible to irritable bowel syndrome, liver disorders, and amenorrhea due to unhealthy dietary consumption. For this reason, moderation in diet is necessary. A well-balanced nutritious diet consists of five food groups including whole-grains, milk, fruits and vegetables, meat and nuts, and oil which lower disease risk and increase the lifespan. Body size idealism is also the lead cause of eating disorder, especially among teenage girls. The objective of this study was to overview the association of dietary habits with the physical and mental health of people by analyzing the findings of previously published literature. Poor dietary choices and habits lead to poor physical health, classroom performance, and memory retention. It also leads to psychological issues, such as anxiety and depression.

Glycosidation of lactose in milk can be utilized to produce GOS in cottage cheese. The current study was conducted to evaluate the sensory as well as physicochemical properties of GOS containing cottage cheese. For this purpose, transgalactosylated milk was used to obtain casein after it was curdled using citric acid. Subsequently, the sensory evaluation of organoleptic properties was done by ten panellists on the 0, 4 th , 8 th , and 12 th day of storage. The sensory characteristics during the shelf-life study did not show a significant difference. The prebiotic cheese was sweeter and softer as compared to the control cheese. Additionally, the prebiotic cheese was ranked higher in the overall sensory characteristics score than the control cheese. Based on the findings, we suggest that GOS containing cheese as well as other food products should be commercially produced since they would be a valuable healthy addition to the diet.

RESULTS: In 2010, incidence and mortality of lung cancer in China are 46.08/105 and 37.00/105. DALYs (disability adjusted life years) and economic burden of lung cancer are extremely high in both Beijing and Shanghai. DALYs of lung cancer are 42219.38 and 91962.18 in Beijing and Shanghai respectively. And average hospitalization expenditures per lung cancer inpatient are ¥38595.00 and ¥50026.65, among which average drug costs per inpatient are as high as ¥18139.65(46.97%) and ¥30356.00(60.68%). CONCLUSIONS: Lung cancer has made Chinese patients incur great loss in both DALYs and money, which is a conspicuous reminder to policy makers to pay more attention to management of the raging disease. And early prevention and screening of lung cancer should be priorities to slow increasing speed of disease burden.

It has been estimated that people with diabetes have a 15% to 25% lifetime risk of acquiring DFUs which leads to the risk of lower limb amputations up to 85% due to poor diagnosis and treatment. Diabetic foot develops planter ulcers where thermography is used to detect the changes in the planter temperature. In this study, publicly available thermographic image data including both control group and diabetic group patients are used. Thermograms at image level as well as patch level are utilized for DFU detection. For DFU recognition, several machine-learning-based classification approaches are employed with hand-crafted features. Moreover, a couple of convolutional neural network models including ResNet50 and DenseNet121 are evaluated for DFU recognition. Finally, a CNN-based custom-developed model is proposed for the recognition task. The results are produced using image-level data, patch...

GMC cases with allegations of inappropriate examination or a chaperone not being present have risen over 60% in the past 5 years. Following recommendations in the Ayling report3 and the GMCs 'Intimate examinations and chaperones' our NHS Trust created a surgical admission proforma allowing for full documentation of rectal examinations. This audit aims to determine current use and documentation of chaperones in the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU). Method: A prospective audit analysing case notes of 40 consecutive adult patients presenting to SAU. Multiple variables collected from a standardised clerking proforma. Result: 37.5%(n¼15) of patients were male and 62.5%(n¼25) female. Median (range) age was 54(16-91) years. 67.5%(n¼27) of had a chaperone present. Of these, 40.7%(n¼11) had name and grade recorded and 37.0%(n¼10) were countersigned. Commonest indication for examination was abdominal pain 35%(n¼14). Incidence of chaperone use by gender of assessor to patient was; F: F(78.6%),F: M(50.0%),M: F(63.7%),M: M(71.4%). Conclusion: Correct documentation of chaperone use falls short of complete compliance with the GMC guidelines in our hospital. However, the authors suggest that a structured area in the clerking proforma aids correct documentation, which is in the interest of all parties involved in intimate examinations.

Data-driven model predictions using machine learning algorithms are promising tenets for these purposes as they require less developmental time, minimal inputs and are relatively less complex than the dynamic or physical model. This paper authenticates a computationally simple, fast and efficient non-linear algorithm known as extreme learning machine (ELM) for the prediction of Effective Drought Index (EDI) in eastern Australia using input data trained from 1957-2008 and the monthly EDI predicted over the period 2009-2011. The predictive variables for the ELM model were the rainfall and mean, minimum and maximum air temperatures, supplemented by the large-scale climate mode indices of interest as regression covariates, namely the Southern Oscillation Index, Pacific Decadal Oscillation, Southern Annular Mode and the Indian Ocean Dipole moment. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed datadriven model a performance comparison in terms of the prediction capabilities and learning speeds was conducted between the proposed ELM algorithm and the conventional artificial neural network (ANN) algorithm trained with Levenberg-Marquardt back propagation. The prediction metrics certified an excellent performance of the ELM over the ANN model for the overall test sites, thus yielding Mean Absolute Errors, Root-Mean Square Errors, Coefficients of Determination and Willmott's Indices of Agreement of 0.277, 0.008, 0.892 and 0.93 (for ELM) and 0.602, 0.172, 0.578 and 0.92 (for ANN) models. Moreover, the ELM model was executed with learning speed 32 times faster and training speed 6.1 times faster than the ANN model. An improvement in the prediction capability of the drought duration and severity by the ELM model was achieved. Based on these results we aver that out of the two machine learning algorithms tested, the ELM was the more expeditious tool for prediction of drought and its related properties.

In order to numerically predict the potential cavitation of a high-speed flow in a chute spillway, a compound risk assessment is proposed by combining probabilistic analysis with a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique. Based on the local pressure and flow velocity of the nodes, the traditional cavitation number is introduced to characterize the possibility of cavitation. The distribution of cavitation numbers was obtained according to the numerical simulation of the flow field in an open spillway. A hydraulic experiment was conducted to validate the numerical result.
