The need to produce competentgraduates for effective performance in the global workplace necessit... more The need to produce competentgraduates for effective performance in the global workplace necessitated this study to determine the extent of utilization ofe-learning resources in business education programme in southeast Nigerian universities. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The population of the study was 50 business education lecturers from the universities offering business education programme in SouthEast Nigeria. This population formed the sample. The instrument for data collection was a 17-item validated questionnaire developed by the researchers. The reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach Alpha with reliability coefficients of 0.86 and 0.79 for Clusters A and B respectively. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions while t-test statistic was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The results revealed that elearning resources for instructional delivery and evaluation process in business education programme in SouthEast Nigerian universities were utilized to a very low extent very lowly. Also, ownership of institutions did not significantly affect the opinion of business educators regarding the extent theyutilize e-learning resources for instructional delivery and evaluation process in business education programme in SouthEast , Nigerian universities. It was recommended among others that the university administrators in collaboration with the government should provide adequate e-learning facilities for lecturers inorder to facilitate their teaching and evaluation process.

Two research questions were developed and answered by the study using cross sectional survey research design. The sample for the study was 317 consisting of 116 registered women melon processors, 102 marketers and 98 extension agents. A 24-item well structured questionnaire was developed and used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using principal component analysis with varimax rotation and factor loading of 0.40. The results showed that the flavour of melon seeds processed mechanically could be enhanced in Southeastern Nigeria through mechanical, maintenance and hygienic factors while that of neatness of melon seeds processed mechanically could be enhanced through hygiene, biological and handling/distributive factors. Governments at federal, state and local levels have responded to this need with the ICT policy and inclusion of computer education in secondary schools curriculum but research reports indicate that the implementation over the years are slow and ineffective. This study, therefore, surveyed 50 computer science lecturers in seven tertiary institutions in Anambra State to ascertain their recommended strategies for effective implementation of computer education program in Nigerian secondary schools. The study population comprised 1,102 students of business education in south east universities in Nigeria. Stratified sampling technique was used to draw 293 students that represented the sample frame for the study. A 5-point scale validated questionnaire with reliability coefficient of 0.84 was used for data collection. Mean, standard deviation and ANOVA were used for data analysis. Results revealed that the respondents apply mobile learning devices for education to a low extent. The respondents differed significantly in their mean ratings based on institution type. Based on the findings, the authors concluded that students use mobile learning devices for leisure than study and recommended among others that educators should acquire relevant competences on mobile learning and apply them using mobile devices for instructions while the curriculum plan...
The thrust of this study was to determine the effects on Government oriented programmes (GOP) suc... more The thrust of this study was to determine the effects on Government oriented programmes (GOP) such as Better Life, Family Support, the Family Economic Advancement Programmes and so on production agriculture among rural women farmers in Ekiti and Enugu States. The study was a descriptive research design. A total of 320 rural women farmer were purposely sampled as the respondents for data collection. Means, standard deviation and Spearman rank correlation coefficient (r) were used to analyse the data for the study. The respondents agreed that GOP programmes have marked effects on the farmers' level of production (10 items out of 12) and that the programmes played significant roles in their life (13 out of 16 items). There was a strong relationship in the mean rating of adult and young women farmers on the effects of GOP on agricultural productivity among the respondents. It was recommended among others that government oriented programmes should be evaluated at local, state and national levels periodically, while the programmes should also be streamlined to have stable policy.
This article focuses on the challenges of technical and vocational education in mitigating climat... more This article focuses on the challenges of technical and vocational education in mitigating climate change induced catastrophes in Nigeria. The concepts of climate change and related areas were discussed in the paper including the causes and effects of climate, as well as, issues of prevention, preparation and adaptation processes. The roles that technical and vocational education may play in preparing citizens to prevent, adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change are presented. These include technical assistance; conducting research with a view to improve the quality of predictions of future changes to regional and environmental conditions; and changing the attitudes of citizens through education and public enlightenment to achieve a balance between ethics and the management of the environment. In light of these issues, the authors view technical and vocational education as an effective and significant tool in ameliorating the effects of climate change. It is recommended that technical and vocational education practitioners use their understanding of science and technology to deal with challenges posed by climate change in Nigeria.

Being a nascent financial sector that seeks to integrate with the global financial system, the global financial crisis led to a drop in Nigeria’s foreign exchange and reserves causing a double-digit inflation which affected all sectors of her economy. This brought daunting challenges to the government, corporate organizations and individual citizens especially students who are mostly dependants. This study seeks to determine the challenges and opportunities of the crisis to undergraduate business education students in south east Nigerian universities. Two research questions and four null hypotheses guided the descriptive survey. Population consists of 1078 out of which 285 who are in the final year were sampled.
