This paper examines the effect of participative leadership style on employee's productivity using... more This paper examines the effect of participative leadership style on employee's productivity using Midland Galvanizing Product Limited (MIDGAL) Abeokuta, Ogun State Nigeria. The study actually tried to find the extent to which participative leadership style helps to improve employees productivity and bring out their best. The study made use three hypotheses. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The sample for the study comprised 62 staff of MIDGAL. The instrument titled "Participative Leadership Inventory (PLI)" was used for the study. Data obtained from the questionnaire was analyzed using Chi-square technique. The research indicates that exist a positive relationship between participating leadership style and employee's productivity. Also, the result shows that participatory leadership style can be used as a motivational tool for workers. Based on the results of the study, the study recommended that every organization should adopt participatory leadership style as it boost employee morale and enhance organizational productivity.

Action Learning by Professionals: Evidence from Nigeria

This paper is centered on the concept of action learning, which emphasizes the direct outcome or ... more This paper is centered on the concept of action learning, which emphasizes the direct outcome or consequence of acquiring skills or competences through the process of finding solutions to substantive difficult organisational issues. Primary data were collected from 100 respondents from 5 financial service providers/information communication and technology practitioners in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Simple percentages were used to analyse the data while correlation matrix was used to test the hypotheses. The result showed that 88% of the respondents affirmed that action learning, among other benefits, enhances both individual and team problem-solving capabilities, thereby resulting in resource leveraging as the most important factor at the organisational level The correlation matrix showed that action learning positively impacts organisational changes at (r=0.466) while it also facilitates improvement of performance given (r= 0.578).

Influence of Dividend Policy on Stock Price Volatility of Non-Financial Firms Listed Nigerian Stock Exchange

The focus of the study was intelligent view on the long-run and short-run causal significance of dividend management on stock price volatility. Panel Auto Regressive Distribution Lag was conducted on listed non-financial firms in Nigeria. The result showed that Stock Price Volatility in the long-run based on a threshold of 1% level of significance is significant as movement of Dividend Payout Ratio, Dividend Yield, Earnings Volatility and Firm Size causes about 0.15%, 0.76%, and 0.008% increase and about 3% decrease respectively on change in stock price on the long run while in the short-run, all the variables except Earnings Volatility have insignificant effect. The study recommended that low dividend payout ratios at a stable rate serve as a good signal out to all investors for expectation of returns which in turn increases firm value and stabilize stock price.

Using a sample size of 214 business education students drawn from 6 programmes, the hierarchical multiple regressions was used to show relationships based on the variables. The statistical analysis showed that only age of the students had a significant relationship with the dependent variables. Externalisation and internalisation influenced students’ preparedness for the work place, while teachers-student exchange and socialisation had significant effects on students’ academic performance. Organizations now go beyond their economic obligations and are particularly meticulous in considering and assessing the impact of their activities on the environment. The objectives of the study are to examine the effect of Environmental focused CSR activities on corporate image and also to investigate the effect of Ethical CSR activities on Customer Relation. 240 copies of questionnaire were administered to Nigeria brewery staffs in Ogun State, Nigeria to get primary data that treated and tested appropriate research questions and hypotheses accordingly. The study adopted survey method and Cronbach Alpha for test retest reliability. The study found out that there was a significant relationship between ethical activity and customer relations and the relationship between environment activities and corporate image was significant. The study recommends the managements should ensure they plan strategically to enhance corporate social responsibility.

The small-scale industry in Nigeria is considered to be an important element to the growth of the... more The small-scale industry in Nigeria is considered to be an important element to the growth of the economy in contributing to the gross domestic products of the economy, and it has been of contention that strategic leadership has influenced and sustained the performance of small and medium enterprises. As such, the main objective of the study is to examine how the exercising of strategic leadership has influenced and sustained the performance of small and medium enterprises in Nigeria in terms of social impact. About 300 questionnaires were administered to small sized companies. The study found that there is a significant influence of strategic planning on sustaining small and medium enterprises profit performance and the results indicated that the managers that sustain profitability performance are those that are strategic in planning. The study discovers that the return on investment of small and medium enterprise depends on the appropriateness of its leadership practices. The study recommends that small-sized companies should be effective in their strategy implementation in order to achieve the corporate objectives of indigenous small and medium enterprises.

Using a sample size of 214 business education students drawn from 6 programmes, the hierarchical multiple regressions was used to show relationships based on the variables. The statistical analysis showed that only age of the students had a significant relationship with the dependent variables. Externalisation and internalisation influenced students’ preparedness for the work place, while teachers-student exchange and socialisation had significant effects on students’ academic performance. Organizations now go beyond their economic obligations and are particularly meticulous in considering and assessing the impact of their activities on the environment. The objectives of the study are to examine the effect of Environmental focused CSR activities on corporate image and also to investigate the effect of Ethical CSR activities on Customer Relation. 240 copies of questionnaire were administered to Nigeria brewery staffs in Ogun State, Nigeria to get primary data that treated and tested appropriate research questions and hypotheses accordingly. The study adopted survey method and Cronbach Alpha for test retest reliability. The study found out that there was a significant relationship between ethical activity and customer relations and the relationship between environment activities and corporate image was significant. The study recommends the managements should ensure they plan strategically to enhance corporate social responsibility.

As such, the main objective of the study is to examine how the exercising of strategic leadership has influenced and sustained the performance of small and medium enterprises in Nigeria in terms of social impact. About 300 questionnaires were administered to small sized companies. The study found that there is a significant influence of strategic planning on sustaining small and medium enterprises profit performance and the results indicated that the managers that sustain profitability performance are those that are strategic in planning. The study discovers that the return on investment of small and medium enterprise depends on the appropriateness of its leadership practices. The study recommends that small-sized companies should be effective in their strategy implementation in order to achieve the corporate objectives of indigenous small and medium enterprises.
