A major obstacle identified in several disciplines is the categorization of objects in a particular area of interest into a taxonomy. Blockchain is an innovation that is decentralized and characterized by value-based information that is distributed over a vast network with many untrusted users. Developing a taxonomy for blockchain applications is a complex process. This chapter thus attempts to discuss what internal factors contribute to the success of a blockchain application. This is followed by an analysis of which organizations use blockchain and which applications and apps they use. Finally, we classify blockchains according to what they are used for. For example, Blockchains are used in such fields as finance, agriculture, education, development, etc.

The high priority now is ensuring a fault tolerant environment that can keep the systems up and running. To minimize the impact of downtime or accessibility failure due to systems, network devices or hardware, the expectations are that such failures need to be anticipated and handled proactively in fast, intelligent way. This article discusses the fault tolerance system for cloud computing environments, analyzes whether this is effective for Cloud environments.

Cloud computing is starting to replace the legacy office IT infrastructure and helpdesk support system. Corporate and home users alike are turning into cloud service consumers in a huge way and moving their data and work to the cloud. Therefore, the CSA between the cloud service consumers and cloud service providers has critical significance that can guarantee the highest-level service quality and delivery. The current CSA fall short on the service delivery commitments with no common terminology or standard followed industry wide by the cloud service providers. Comparing agreements from multiple cloud service providers continues to be an issue. This paper provides a pragmatic approach for Cloud Service Agreements, comparing the current process with the proposed parameters and the new framework for CSA to determine the role of various elements an...

PHR is collection of all the health related data of a person. One can maintain his PHR from his childhood and can use it anytime. Emergency Medical Systems (EMS) are services which can be provided in various emergency situations. These services may include calling an Ambulance service till patient gets discharge from the hospital. The culmination of EMS and PHR can tremendously help in making health management efficient. We are going to develop a system that maintains PHR and provide EMS using cloud environment. It provides asynchronous notification using Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) which is a lightweight mechanism that uses push messaging technology for notification.

The IDT structures (with separation between two adjacent spiral electrodes varied progressively from 30 to 33 µm) are fabricated on quartz wafer by 5 µm thick gold electroplating. The onset of microplasma is witnessed around 580 V applied bias (Electric field: ~ 193 kV/cm). Initially, the microplasma is observed nearby the central area of the spiral IDT structure. Thereafter, the microplasma started spreading out other regions and finally engulfs the whole IDT with an intense glow. Although the bias is applied continuously, the microplasma generation in the spiral IDT structure is found to be discontinuous. It seems to be due to the discharge of the energy stored in the metal-air-metal capacitor (spiral IDT) during micro-plasma generation and thus reduces the resultant electric field below the threshold of microplasma generation. When the micro-plasma stops, the voltage at the IDT capacitors is again restored to its threshold value and microplasma is being observed again.
