This study aims to experiment the usage of submerged vanes as a mitigation method and determine their effectiveness in decreasing sediment deposition. A numerical model was constructed using DELFT3D of a reach that is located in the Nile River including the intake structure. Several scenarios were tested to optimise several parameters such as the usage of one or two rows of vanes and the distance of the vanes from the lateral intake. The results generated from the model showed that using two rows of vanes provided a 30% reduction of erosion in front of the intake compared to the base case and a 33% reduction in the volume of sediment entering the intake. Moreover, a 36% reduction of sediment volume was observed compared to the base case when the vanes were plac...

The unique Silterra technology allows the integration of high frequency BAW resonators on top of a standard 0.13µm CMOS technology [1]. The oscillator circuitry is placed under the BAW resonator for smaller form factor and reduction of parasitics. The oscillator has tunable gain and phase and the output signal can be divided by a factor from 8 to 240. The measured phase noise performance of the 2.22GHz oscillator is -85dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset frequency and a -158dBc/Hz noise floor. The integrated phase jitter from 12 kHz to 20 MHz is $< 360$ fs. This low noise oscillator allows the development of high performance and high frequency signal sources based on MEMS BAW oscillators replacing the traditional LC CMOS solutions.

The developing countries need to have a full integrated ITS in order to avoid the exponential increase for vehicles accidents, and loss of lives, also these countries need to increase their investments.

Now ITS topics are standing on a solid ground. Many European countries and USA started to implement and use them. In the developing countries the infrastructure is not established well with a lot of challenges (ex. Infrastructure cost, …). In this paper, Vehicleto-Vehicle (V2V) implementation will be used as a standalone for ITS architecture in the developing countries without Road site units (RSU) infrastructure to overcome the current challenges. To do that, a full simulation for different Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) routing protocols will be done using Opnet simulator to select the best protocol for V2V Implementation. Then the best V2V routing protocol based on the paper's Key Performance Indicators and point of view will be used to compare between two different architectures, one with V2V + RSU implementation and the other one with proposed V2V only implementation. The results demonstrate that the proposed ITS architecture based on V2V only without RSU is capable of implementing ITS in developing countries.

In this paper, the effects of the EP process parameters on the corrosion resistance performance of the SS 316L stainless steel were studied based on the uniform and localized intergranular corrosion (IGC) analyses. The IGC is the prominent characteristics of localized corrosion in stainless steel. The workpiece (anode) material was the SS 316L stainless steel. The cathode material under study was platinum. The electrolyte was composed of sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, glycerin and DI water. The test specimens were all polished before experiments in order to reduce the effect of the bailby layer. Variables of the EP process parameters gap between the electrodes and the process time. The specimens were analyzed, first, by the surface roughness measurement. Secondly, they were observed under the optical microscope for surface marks and defects. It was followed by the linear polarization analysis for the uniform corrosion performance. The electrochemical potentiokinetic repassivation (EPR) test was employed to study the localized, IGC. Finally, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) analyses were conducted to analyze the metallurgical composition and the thickness of the passive film. The results showed that the EP process greatly improved the corrosion resistance of the SS 316L stainless steel.

One of its main points is the Vehicle-To-Vehicle (V2V) communication which is essential for the ITS full automated process as it decreases the number of hits between the vehicles and the access points on the roads. V2V is important for the developing countries which does not include Road Side Units (RSUs), so in this research we will go through V2V research directions to explore the current models, and to find out the advantages and challenges of implementing V2V.
