In industry, vibration frequently occurs on rotating machines. In case of vibration level, it can... more In industry, vibration frequently occurs on rotating machines. In case of vibration level, it can cause damage to machines. Therefore vibration level should be continuously checked by using a predictive maintenance method in order to prevent the severe fault. In this study, a vibration monitoring tool with short message service (SMS) will be manufactured. This tool consists of a vibration sensor, controller, data acquisition, and provides both monitoring and warning systems in a remote area. An accelerometer is used as a vibration sensor placing on a bearing housing. Here, a designed tool is applied to machines with several conditions, namely normal, unbalance, and mechanical looseness. The rotational speed of the motor is varied at 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, and 2000 rpm. Moreover, the warning system will be active by sending SMS to the operator when the vibration level is higher than one of ISO 2372. Validation is done by comparing the designed tool and standard tool. Finally, the results show that the designed tool can be effectively used for vibration measurement because it has an error of less than 3.5%, and the warning system through SMS is also running well with a delivery time of fewer than 5.5 seconds.

Jika getaran terjadi secara terus menerus akan menimbulkan rusak pada poros mesin. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai karakteristik getaran pada poros yang mengalami parallel misalignment dan angular misalignment. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan software SimWise 4D untuk memodelkan poros tunggal kondisi parallelmisalignment 6mm, 8mm, dan angular misalignment 3˚,8˚ sehingga didapatkan domain waktu. Mechanical systems were used 12V DC motors. Whereas, automatic control systems were carried out using PLC and Arduino UNO microcontrollers. Therefore, the desired speed and time can be controlled. Automatic garage doors worked with a drive system that is the influence of the distance to the distance and time generated during opening and vertical automatic doors. Konstruksi dari mesin tersebut yaitu disk diletakkan pada ujung poros atau disebut dengan konstruksi rotor menggantung (rotor overhung). Rotor jenis ini sering mengalami kerusakan, salah satunya diakibatkan oleh ketidakseimbangan (unbalance). Pada penelitian ini membahas mengenai karakteristik getaran dari rotor overhung dengan kondisi unbalance dan cara membalance. Proses unbalance menggunakan metode ketidakseimbangan statik dengan input massa tak seimbang. Sedangkan proses membalance menggunakan metode tiga massa coba dengan masing masing sudut antara lain 00, 1200 dan 2400 dengan membandingkan nilai magnitude yang dihasilkan. This KSM is located in Pasar Ujung Subdistrict, Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province. KSM Sepakat was established in 2010 and from 2017 has stoped and vacuum from all activitiy to now. One of the factors that causes this vacuum is the damage to production equipment, including components in sewing machines. In addition, the lack of assistance and guidance from the local government has caused the motivation of the members to decrease so that production has decreased too. One of the efforts to re-exist and to reproduce again is sewing machine repair training to all KSM members. This training aims to ensure that each member has basic skills in repairing sewing machines so that if a damage occurs, it will not interfere with the production of waste processing. Untuk memanfaatkan energi angin, perlu untuk mengetahui potensi angin di daerah yang akan dipasang pembangkit. Alat ukur ini juga dilengkapi dengan sistem SMS untuk akses datanya dalam jarak jauh. Salah satu metode perawat yang sering digunakan adalah predictive maintenance berdasarkan sinyal getaran. Metode ini dapat memprediksi kerusakan mesin berdasarkan sinyal getaran yang timbul, dengan demikian kerusakan parah dapat dihindari. Tetapi metode ini sangat tergantung kepada pakar getaran untuk membaca karakteristik getarannya, sehingga tidak memungkinkan untuk operator biasa tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa apabila para pakar tidak ada. This turbine is promising because the advantages of ultra-low head and fish friendly. Experimental performance of screw turbine for ultra-low head hydro resource is presented in this paper. The screw turbine with an outside diameter of 142 mm and the water flowrate of 1.2 l/s with the head of 0.25 m, can produce maximum power 1.4 W with 49% efficiency at 22 o angle of inclination. This turbine has one blade screw and screw turbine experiment apparatus is made by using locally available materials. The screw turbine has shown good potential to be used for low head micro hydroelectric installations. This paper reports on a performance analysis based on the experimental data collected from different performance tests carried out on some inclination angle position of screw turbine prototype.

A micro hydropower plant can use a reaction or impulse turbine depending on the available resource. Only way to reduce the dependency on fossil fuel is by increasing the renewable energy production capabilities. It is very important to consider short term economic feasibility of renewable energy resources for developing countries. Among all renewable energy sources, hydroelectricity is the most economical and reliable source. Due to environmental concerns and very large capital cost a large hydro power station has less attraction in the present world economy. Nonetheless micro hydropower has a quite large potential to develop. Many of small rivers have much energy to exploit by hydropower electrification, from pico-hydro to micro-hydro scale. Particularly in Indonesia, in many islands country they have huge potential for using micro-hydro on many river and high rainfall because many area of Indonesia lie in equator line.

The vapour compression refrigeration system uses a circulating liquid refrigerant as the medium which absorbs and remove heat from the space to be coolled and subsequently rejects that heat elsewhere. One of component that important in this cycle is expansion valve. Function of expansion valve are to reduce pressure and set the stream of refrigerant to the evaporator. This research was focused to know performance and characteristic engine cooling by using the expansion valve and capilary as a means of expansion tools. Obtained from experiment results that the value of performance engine cooling by using expansion valve is better than capilary. Coefficient of Performance (COP) with the expansion valve is between 3.4-7.53, while the capillary is between 2.8-3.6.

Therefore, to ensure the safety of passengers necessary to test the strength of the bus superstructure prototype before the bus have road worthy license. Testing is guided by the standards that apply to a state. One of the standards used at many countries in the word is ECE-R66 (Economic Commission for Europe-Regulation 66) which regulates the construction and design of many types of passenger vehicles.In this research, methods of testing are the pendulum test and it was simulated by Finite element software soft ware. The purposes of this study are evaluating compatibility this software, determining energy absorption capacity and the deformation that occurs in the superstructure when a loads subjected from the outside of superstructure. In the pendulum test simulation the maximum deformation value is 520 mm at time is 0.45 s, and 466 mm at time is 1.5 s. The maximum stress occured at the joint between the roof structure with cantrail and it's value equal to 266 at simulation. Beside it, the simulation show the energy is absorbed by the superstructure at rollover test simulation equal to 66.23%.. Base on simulation result, it can be concluded that the modeling vehicle is indicated safety for passenger if occure rollover accident.

While the goal in particular is the amount of waste in the landfill can be significantly reduced over time so that the cleanliness of the environment and health can be realized, can boost the economic value of the plastic waste from households because it can be sold to a factory producing plastic pellets and machinery This can help people who are interested in waste processing technology to become entrepreneurs plastic pellets. This activity lasted for ten months in cooperation with two partners, namely the Parks Department and Sanitation of Bengkulu and CV Terang Bulan engaged in the sale of plastic waste. In implementing this program assisted with the research team of students to design and create a municipal waste processing machine a plastic which is more practical with affordable production costs for society. On completion of this machine in addition to the stages involves students will also involve CV. Terang Bulan as a partner in business who have started this garbage. The partners are expected to play an active role in providing fill-enter on the specifications desired by the user. After making machines is completed then it is disseminated to the public that waste management is important and profitable economically.

Coffee roasting is an important process in the coffee industry that determines the quality of the... more Coffee roasting is an important process in the coffee industry that determines the quality of the coffee beverage obtained. The roasting process is carried out in a cylindrical tube having high temperature. Therefore, thermal stress on the cylindrical tube (drum) should be focused. In this paper, both appropriate materials selection and optimal dimension of the roaster drum are considered. Drum is given both thermal load of 200 o C and a coffee load of 2 kg. Here, Aluminum Alloy 5083 and Stainless Steel 304 are analyzed as drum materials because these materials are recommended for foods. Finite element method is used for drum analysis with axisymmetric model. Moreover, optimal dimension of drum can be obtained by varying the length, diameter and thickness. The results show that Stainless Steel 304 is suitable material for drum under both thermal load and both thermal load of 200 o C and a coffee load of 2 kg. While, dimensions of drum are length of 450 mm and diameter of 180 mm with thickness of drum larger than 1 mm.

This research is purpose to design agricultural tools for seed planter are not expensive and ergonomic. The first step of the design is to create a process diagram of a seed planter. Process diagram consist of functions of input (hand , sforce , grains) , process , and output (space , kinetic energy and hands). Before manufacturing process , structure model of seed planter is analysed with finite element simulations to determine strength of the design. Von misses strength during static conditions is 1.8 MPa whereas when moving about 2.48 MPa. This condition is declared safety because the yield strength of the steel material are around 200-400 MPa.
