The transplanter machine is a new innovation for some people in Central Lampung Regency, such as in Seputih Agung District, which is one of the sub-districts that received transplanter assistance from the government which is expected to be implemented by farmers on their farming land. Transplanter machine technology if adopted by farmers is very profitable, because it can facilitate the planting of rice seeds, speed up work time, is effective, and also saves production costs for the planting process. The behavior of farmers in adopting transplanters is formed through the level of knowledge they have which will affect farmers in determining their attitude to accept and implement an innovation. The objectives in this study were to determin...

Tamil Nadu Government has launched “Uzhavan” mobile application for the benefit of farmers. The focus of the present study is to find influencing factors on utilizing Uzhavan app as perceived by the farmers and to bring up the changes felt by the farmers after utilizing Uzhavan application. An ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. Data collected from a sample of 90 Uzhavan app users in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India, during January 2020. Operability, Accuracy, Readability, Directness, Timeliness, Creditability and Reliability were the most influencing factors of the utilization of the Uzhavan app by the farmers. Farmers felt that Uzhavan app has relatively lowered the information searching time and it has created more awareness about Agricultural Government Schemes.

Hence, a study was designed to develop a standardized test using test construction methodology adopting item analysis procedure, pilot tested with 30 farmer members from non-sample area. The final test consisted of 7 questions having difficulty index value in the range of 30 to 80 and discrimination index value above 0.3 and above was retained and used to measure the knowledge of maize growing farmers. The reliability of the knowledge test was measured with the help of split-half method and the reliability coefficient was found to be 0.8, which indicates that the knowledge test is reliable. Also, criterion validity was measured after establishing theoretical relationship between knowledge and adoption of recommended package of practice. Adoption levels of recommended package of practices for maize were calculated for 30 farmers. These scores were correlated with the knowledge scores. The 'r' value was found to be 0.85. Since the 'r' values were significant at 0.01 level of probability, the scale developed was considered as valid. The test was further administered to 150 respondents and it was found that majority of the respondents (44%) had medium level of knowledge about recommended package of practices for paddy cultivation.

The persons can make themselves competent for extension by learning three major components of extension viz. extension education, extension service and extension work. It is expected to have constructive feelings towards extension education, extension work and extension service amongst those who want to develop their career in extension. When work of extension is carried out by any organizations or individuals with the feelings of altruism, selflessness or humanity to help the farmers, it is known as extension work. Many NGOs and extension educationists while doing social work perform this type of work with emotional attachment. Extension work is an effective and productive way to help resource poor farmers. Keeping this in view a standardized scale has been developed to measure the attitude of the postgraduate scholars towards extension work as one of the significant elements of extension. A summated (likert) rating scale was been developed. The process started with identifying the dimension, collection of items followed by relevancy and item analysis and checking the reliability and validity for precision and consistency of the results. A total of 20 statements were framed in which finally 10 statements were finally retained which has practical applicability in measuring the attitude of postgraduate scholars towards extension work. The scale contains total ten statements, out of which six are positive and four statements are negative. The scale developed was found highly reliable.

A random sampling technique was employed, in the selection of respondent. A total of 120 yam farmers were randomly selected and administered questionnaire. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used in analyzing data generated from the study. Results of the study reveal that respondents had moderate awareness of yam minisett technology with an overall awareness percentage of 61. Age, farm size, irregular extension visits, high costs of technology were some factors that influenced adoption of the minisett technology. The effects of the adoption of minisett technology include increased income, skills, knowledge, productivity; reduction in cost of production and sustained food security. Radio and extension agents were the major sources of information. Awareness in the technology should be created among the farmers through the use of campaign, demonstration and small plot adoption trails (SPAT). Also farm credits should be granted to yam farmers to enhance their adoption of the technology were some of the recommendations proffered

It demonstrates and reinforced to accept better practices and wide-ranging technologies for mitigating climate risk to make farming as a profitable business. The current study was carried out in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The sample consists of 60 farmers as beneficiaries from NICRA villages and 60 farmers as nonbeneficiaries from non-NICRA villages were selected randomly. The ex-post facto research design was used in the study. The constraints faced by the farmers for adoption of climate resilient technologies were lack of sufficient rainfall, lack of owned resources, lack of short duration and drought tolerant crop varieties, lack of knowledge about climate resilient practices, and inadequate financial support. The key suggestions given to the respondents for implementation of clim...

In order to identify the constraints in mushroom cultivation, a study was undertaken in Nainital District of Uttarakhand state. A total of 100 respondents from Nanital district of Uttarakhand were selected for the study. Data was collected through telephonic interview. Online Discussion was also organized on Goggle meet. To fi nd out the constraints faced by mushroom cultivators, Garrett’s ranking technique was used. Garrett’s Ranking Technique provides the constraints into numerical scores. The advantage of this technique is that the problems are arranged based on their harshness from the point of view of respondents. Data was collected through telephonic interview. The study reveals that majority of respondents were middle age group and educated up to medium level. All the respondents were using mobile phone and television for taking the information. It is aimed at promoting a competitive and staple product from a specific area to push sales and improve the standard of living of the local population. Over time, it has been replicated in other Asian countries as well. In India, the government of Uttar Pradesh was the first to implement this scheme. The UP government’s One District, One Product scheme encourages such indigenous and specialized products and crafts. After implementing this scheme, many of these products are GI tagged, which means they are certified as specific to that region in Uttar Pradesh.
