The treatment consists of T1= Control, T2= BRRI recommended fertilizer dose (N-P-K-S = 117-19-58-15 kg ha-1), T3= Soil Test Basis (STB) (N-P-K-S = 134-5-77-16 kg ha-1), T4= 75% STB, T5= 75% STB + Decomposed poultry litter (DPL) (2.5 t ha-1), T6 = 75% STB + DPL (5 t ha-1), T7= 50% STB + DPL (5 t ha-1) and T8= DPL (5 t ha-1). The experiment was laid out in RCB design with three replications. Results indicated that different integrated nutrient management had the significant effect on plant height, leaf area index (LAI), tillering pattern, productive tiller (%), tiller mortality (%), sterility (%), panicle m-2 , grains panicle-1 and grain yield. 75% STB + Decomposed poultry litter (2.5 t ha-1) showed highest tiller m-2 , panicle m-2 , grains panicle-1 and ultimately grain yield. 75% STB + Decomposed poultry litter (2.5 t ha-1) gave 11.4% and 18.8% highe...

The research was conducted as a split plot using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications in the Aman season of 2016 under the research field of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur. In this research, the dates 01 August, 16 August, 31 August and 16 September were considered as the main factor in the main plots, and the advanced lines/varieties BR(Bio)9786-BC2-119-1-1, BR(Bio)9786- BC2-132-1-3 and BRRI dhan49 (check variety) were regarded as the secondary factors in the sub plots. The results showed that planting time significantly affected the plant height, the number of panicle per meter square, the number of tillers per meter square, the number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight and grain yield. Among the cultivars, the advanced li...

CN6 is a high spikelet bearing early maturing advanced line of rice but low in spikelet fertility. Supplemented nutrient management was examined to increase its spikelet fertility. Five treatments were used in this experiment. The treatments were as follows: T1 = BRRI recommended fertilizer dose + MgO @ 0.05%, T2 = BRRI recommended fertilizer dose + 60 g MoP + 60 g elemental S (80% wp) + 20 g ZnSO4, T3 = BRRI recommended fertilizer dose + Boron @ 5 ppm, T4 = BRRI recommended fertilizer dose + Copper @ 5 ppm) and T5 = BRRI recommended fertilizer dose alone. The experiment was conducted in Randomized Complete Block design with three replications. The results revealed that Treatment T3 (BRRI recommended fertilizer dose + Boron @ 5ppm) produced the more number of grains per panicle with an average of 201 which is 19.9% high...

Depending on chemical fertilizer solely is not wise and maintaining soil health becomes a great concern worldwide. The purpose of the study is to know about the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer on growth and yield of rice. The experiment was laid out in a split-plot design with four nutrient managements (N1= BRRI recommended fertilizer dose (N-P-K-S-Z = 117-19-58-15-4 kg ha-1), N2= 75% of BRRI recommended dose, N3= 75% of BRRI recommended dose + Decomposed poultry litter (DPL) (2.5 t ha-1) and N4= No fertilizer) in the main plots and three spacing(S1= 20 cm × 20 cm, S2= 20 cm × 15 cm and S3= 25 cm × 15 cm) in the subplots with three replications. In growth and yield characteristics, insignificant difference was found for different spacing but significant difference was found for different nutrient managements. N1 and N3 performed better than N2 and N4 in all o...
