These associations have been so influential and wide-ranging that previously disassociated concepts have come to occupy a prominent place for the proper functioning of companies. In the past, the humanization of interpersonal relationships and ethical issues in the work environment were not considered by corporations, however, currently, there is a social demand that makes these principles an integral part of the image that the company wants to convey in relation to its services and products, investing in valuing its workforce, making the corporate environment healthier and more productive.

A such negative impact is caused by the perpetuation of structural racism that maintains Afro descendants excluded from political, socioeconomic, and geographic spaces, conditioning them to a state of socioeconomic vulnerability. This paper seeks to shed light on the worsening of socio-racial inequalities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in northeastern the city of Maceió. Therefore, epidemiological data from COVID-19 and socioeconomic and census information were retrieved, calculated, analyzed, and spatialized using the QGIS software. The disease's mortality and lethality are accentuated in mostly black neighborhoods that lack infrastructure and basic public services, pointing to the need of developing broader and racially just public policies that are able to overcome historical socio-racial injustices and mitigate future pandemic ...

One of the first international attempts to improve the health of children was by Ms.Eglantyne Jebb, a founder of Save the Children, during the aftermath of the WWI. She drafted the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child, the first international children's rights document adopted by the League of Nations in 1924. Today, in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) we have a more comprehensive and near universal legal instrument for children's rights. These developments have represented dramatic shifts in the attention of the international community on children's rights. In the Convention on the Rights of the Child states moved to protect the rights of refugee, detained, and otherwise exploited and forgotten children. More recent developments on the children's rights legal instruments are the optional protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child prohibiting the use of children in armed conflict, 2000 and the Worst Forms of Child Labor Convention, (International Labour Organization Convention 182) 1999 which targeted such practices as child slavery, sexual exploitation, debt bondage, and trafficking. Clearly, at each stage of development of international children's rights more different groups of children have been recognized to need special attention. Empirical evidence and a growing literature also indicate that the fight for children's right to health is growing in importance. According to UNICEF, an estimated 12 million children under the age of five die every year, many of easily preventable accidents; approximately 160 million children are severely or moderately malnourished; and an estimated 250 million children are engaged in some form of labour. Basic Resources UN Entities United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is a main International Organization focusing on realization of Child Rights. UNICEF are working on health issues of children such as: immunization against common childhood diseases, prevention against HIV/AIDS, and better nutrition. Its updated activity information and many publications such as "The State of the World's Children" are available at its web site.

Several studies relate the influence of physical space to the ability of concentrating and learning. The Attention Restoration Theory points out towards gains on performance having breaks between activities. The effect of these breaks can be enhanced by the presence of vegetation. This aspect can guide new measures regarding the location of the school and its essential components. For the systematic literature review, based at Prisma methodology, 18 articles were selected in order to identify the relationship between vegetation and students’ performance. The articles describe the type of vegetation, its position and the moment of contact with it, relating these points to the performance. Significant positive correlations were found with vegetation of various sizes, located in buffers of up to 4.8 km, in passive and active group interactions. Group’s age direct...

The use of bioclimatic strategies to mitigate UHI effects is essential for urban planning. In this sense, green areas contribute to sustain climate patterns and enhance quality of life. This study aims to describe a microclimate performance sample at Liberty Square, in Teresina-PI, in the dry and wet seasons. This study aimed to understand the influence of the vegetation and its surroundings in the quality of the urban green spaces. The microclimate analysis was conducted through computational simulation, with the ENVI-met V.4.4.5. software and it was divided into four methodological steps: data collection, modeling, simulation, and results extraction. Results indicate the incidence of high temperatures in both seasons, and the afternoon being the most critical time in both scenarios; however, the wet season showed better rates of thermal comfort, with d...

In this context, the green wall is a kind of green infrastructure that is used as a bioclimatic strategy. Also, it can be used as an approach to insert green areas in an urban context, contributing to urban areas to become more sustainable. This chapter aims to evaluate the thermal performance of green walls using three different native climbing vegetation from the Cerrado biome. Thus, the authors used a computational tool named ENVI-met (v.3) as a method to analyze and evaluate which plants would bring the best performance in terms of improving thermal comfort. The database the authors obtained from the simulations will serve as a comparison of the thermal performance between walls without vegetation cover, as well as clarify the morphological and physiological characteristics that influence its thermal performance. The results demonstrate that Arrabidaea pulchra species enabled green walls with lower ...
