Islam as a universal religion transcends borders and boundaries as well as all human endeavours, ... more Islam as a universal religion transcends borders and boundaries as well as all human endeavours, be it scientific or otherwise. Allah (SWT) has left nothing untouched in the Qur'an. Science is a body of positive knowledge or any intellectual activity concerned with the physical world and entailing unbiased observations and systematic experimentation. Much devotion was given to the world of science by the early generation of Muslims up to the period of the Crusader and Mongol invasions of Muslim intellectual centres. The task of propagating Islam using scientific approach is an ongoing effort that must be sustained. This paper aims at chatting a course of action to address the issues surrounding the collection, preservation and retrieval of appropriate data for effective planning and implementation of the welfare need of orphans, using the scientific approach. The paper discusses some conceptual framework. It adopts qualitative approach in its research methodology and consulted both primary and secondary sources of data. It undertakes a review of some relevant literatures, presents data based on Islamic provisions relating to the care of orphans and sustainability windows. Finding shows the existence of gaps in the way and manner the affairs of orphans are handled by the care givers, who are either Islamic institutions or Muslim individuals. Some of these gaps are highlighted for corrective purposes. The paper concludes by advocating the domestication and ownership of the data collation mechanism by Muslim orphans, while recommending a way out of the current challenges facing the institution.
