Data was collected through purposive sampling strategy and Correlation research design applied. The following instruments were utilised in the current study: a demographic information sheet, the Death Anxiety Scale (Templer, 1970), the Multidisciplinary Scale of Social Support Scale (Zimet et al., 1988), and the Treatment Motivation Questionnaire (Plant et al., 1995). To interpret the research data, descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis, Mediation via Process Analysis, and Regression Analysis were used. The results showed a strong favorable association between social support and medicine adherence, but no significant relationship between social support and death anxiety. In Pakistan, the HIV epidemic is moving into a new stage, with the possibility that it will spread through generational transmission. At this point, social support and adherence to ARV treatment are vital for those living with HIV/AIDS.

The present study aimed at validating a newly developed scale that measures internal communication maturity within organizations through an employee-centric approach rather than a management-centric one. The present study employs a cross-sectional survey research design. A total of 2071 employees (94.4% male; 5.6% female) from the logistic industry across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were approached through convenience sampling. Based on the literature review and results derived from interviews, 16 items were generated with a 5-point Likert response format. Results indicated the measure is reliable and valid. Reliability analysis showed good alpha reliability coefficients (>0.75) between total internal communication satisfaction and its subscales (awareness, appreciation, relationship, engagement and maturity)...

Anthropogenic activities and climate variations are the major factors that primarily influence vegetation ecosystems. This study investigates the spatiotemporal impacts of climate factors and human activities on vegetation productivity changes in China from 1985 to 2015. Actual net primary productivity (ANPP) is used to reflect vegetation dynamics quantitatively. Climate-induced potential net primary productivity (PNPP) is used as an indicator of climate change, whereas the difference between PNPP and ANPP is considered as an indicator of human activities (HNPP). Overall, 91% of the total vegetation cover area shows declining trends for net primary productivity (NPP), while only 9% shows increasing trends before 2000 (base period). However, after 2000 (restoration period), 78.7% of the total vegetation cover area shows increasing trends, whereas 21.3% of the area shows decreasing tren...

The TP also lies in the core zone of the belt and road initiative. To protect the TP environment, a comprehensive screening on current ecological research status is entailed. The teased out research gap can also be utilized as guidelines for the recently launched major research programs, i.e. the second TP scientific expedition and silk and belt road research plan. The findings showed that the TP has experienced significant temperature increase at a rate of 0.2°C per decade since 1960s. The most robust warming trend was found in the northern plateau. Precipitation also exhibited an increasing trend but with high spatial heterogeneity. Changing climates have caused a series of environmental consequences, including lake area changes, glacier shrinkage, permafrost degradation and exacerbated desertification. The rising temperature is the main reason behind the glaciers shrinkage, sn...

Producers and decision-makers thus require updated and accurate maps of salinity in agronomical and environmentally relevant regions. The goals of this study were to test various regression models for estimating soil salt content based on hyperspectral data, HJ-CCD images, and Landsat OLI data using; develop optimal band Difference Index (DI), Ratio Index (RI), and Normalization Index (NDI) algorithms for monitoring soil salt content using image and spectral data; and to compare the performances of the proposed models using a Bootstrap-BP neural network model (Bootstrap-BPNN) from different data sources. The results showed that previously published optimal remote sensing parameters can be applied to estimate the soil salt content in the Ebinur Lake Wetland National Nature Reserve (ELWNNR). Optimal band combination indices based on DI, RI, and NDI were developed for different data so...

We propose to evaluate IQ expressed as Likert scale, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) from coronary CT angiography images acquired with a new volumetric single-beat CT scanner on consecutive patients and assess the IQ dependence on heart rate (HR) and body mass index (BMI). We retrospectively analyzed the data of the first 439 consecutive patients (mean age, 55.13 [SD, 12.1] years; 51.47% male), who underwent noninvasive coronary CT angiography in a new single-beat volumetric CT scanner (Revolution CT) to evaluate chest pain at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Based on patient BMI (mean, 29.43 [SD, 5.81] kg/m), the kVp (kilovolt potential) value and tube current were adjusted within a range of 80 to 140 kVp and 122 to 720 mA, respectively. Each scan was performed in a single-beat acquisition within 1 cardiac cycle, regardless of the HR. Motion correction software...
Pericardial and myocardial diseases represent an important cause of morbidity and mortality. Alth... more Pericardial and myocardial diseases represent an important cause of morbidity and mortality. Although echocardiography remains the initial standard diagnostic tool for identifying these diseases it has limited detail for the morphological and functional analysis of the pericardium and myocardium. Cardiac CT (CCT) and MR (CMR) are the primary modalities of choice when comprehensive functional assessment of the heart is required. These imaging techniques provide advanced information on anatomy and cardiac function to optimize diagnosis and treatment. However, as CMR is relatively more costly and time consuming, it is often only used when diagnosis is not clear. Due to the volumetric nature of image acquisition, cardiac CT provides an accurate and reproducible method for assessing both myocardial and pericardial morphology and function. The excellent spatial resolution and contrast to noise ratio of CT allows for the detection of mural thrombi in patients with severely reduced left ventricular function. CCT can easily help identify pericardial diseases such as inflammation, effusion, pericardial cyst, benign or malignant masses, as well as pericardial calcification in the case of constrictive pericarditis. CCT is also proficient in diagnosing the functional assessment of the heart. As most of cardiomyopathies have functional compromise, CCT is best suited for cardiomyopathies in terms of functional analysis. With the advancement of CT technology, radiation exposure is minimal, and with continued improvement in post-processing software, it is able to produce a variety of high-quality images in multiple reformats with historically low radiation and contrast dose. The new General Electric (GE) Revolution CT scanner has made it possible to image the heart with abnormal rate and rhythm without compromising image quality. It is especially useful for patients who have contraindications to beta-blockers or who have atrial fibrillation.

Techniques for optimizing power usage in WSNs have been developed in this paper. The goal is achieved by exploiting a decrease in cross-over distance between error correcting coded (ECC) information signals and its un-coded version. A decrease in total energy gain is observed from the practical data acquisitioning. From analysis presented in this paper, the overall 22% energy gain in ECC coded data was observed with the theoretical analysis and results obtained using MATLAB. The modulation schemes under test were MPSK, MFSK and MQAM. Furthermore, the presented idea has opened ways for researchers to exploit other means to bring a decrease in cross-over distance so that further gain of energy in WSNs can be possible.
