Meet our wolf pack, Lightning(grey wolf), Thunder(grey wolf), Apollo(wolf hybrid), and Grace(wolf hybrid)... Grey wolves are native to northern parts of North America & Europe. They are very social animals, usually living in packs of 2 to 20 wolves, and thrive on companionship. Wolves are not suitable as pets, and wolf-dog hybrids are even more dangerous as companion animals, as they combine wild & domestic instincts in the powerful body of a wolf.

Grace is really enjoying her newly found relationship with Thunder. She is fully acclimated and doing quite well. Her Brother
Lightning is a spayed female grey wolf (Canis lupus) that came to Noah’s Ark with her brother, Thunder, in 2006 at just 3 months old. They were being shipped through the Atlanta Airport but didn’t have the proper paperwork to pass to their next destination. On top of that, the shipper wasn’t even licensed to have wolves, so the two pups were brought to Noah’s Ark by the USDI (US Department of the Interior) for holding because they were considered evidence in a criminal case...

After nearly being starved to death Grace continues to gain weight and improve in health after she was trapped as a stray by Animal Control and brought to Noah's Ark a few months ago. Her best friend is Apollo, another "wolf" that is most likely a wolf hybrid (aka wolfdog), although there is no test available to the public to know for sure. Wolf Habitat
Grace (wolf hybrid) investigating the creek, exploring the dens and having a groom in her new acre plus habitat. The other wolves will be introduced one by one through a barrier fence first to ensure everybody stays safe. Hopefully by the new year all will be integrated into a happy pack. Grace did much better than we expected upon arrival to the wolf habitat. Grace is a wolf hybrid we recently rescued from Animal Control who was caught in a trap and starving. There was a chain around her neck (so she was at one time a "pet") and she was covered with shot gun pellets. This picture shows two of the MANY reasons why wolves make terrible "pets": 1. Their instinctual urge to dig (and we're not talking little holes in the flower bed. This is a 6 foot deep burrow!) 2. "Muzzle wrapping" is how Lightening is showing her rank within the pack.
