Then add the boiling water and mix to form a loose batter. Divide the batter into 3 cake pans lined with parchment paper and bake at 180C for 30-35 minutes. You know it is done when the cake springs back and a skewer inserted inside comes out clean and dry. Let the cakes cool completely before icing. For the butter cream: 1 ½ cups softened butter 5 cups icing sugar 1 cup cocoa powder ½ cup whipping cream 2 tsp vanilla essence Method: Beat together the softened butter and icing sugar. Add the icing sugar in batches so there are no lumps in your icing.
