Kevin Kowalski on Instagram: "Episode 2 Lidded Jars 3 Ways. In this episode I use a thick slip to decorate the surface of my jar before I cut it open and trim it to fit. Thick slip is applied to the leather hard stage and swiped in a pattern using my @mudtools (not an ad but would love to collaborate) The waiting after is the hardest because it has to achieve hard leather hard before you can handle for trimming. Be patient and enjoy. Next episode will show how I trim the lid to fit. #ceramics #pottery #potteryvideo #liddedjar"

Terra Lumina Studio ® on Instagram: "Ever tried giving your mug that finishing flourish but weren’t sure where to start? Today, I’m trimming five different foot rings on the wheel, each with its own personality. I remember when I first discovered how a simple alteration at the base can change the entire feel of a piece—suddenly, those mugs weren’t just mugs anymore, they felt intentional and uniquely mine. Foot rings can influence balance, highlight shape, and even frame the glaze in surprising ways. This time, I played around with angles and depth to see how each variation would show off the final design. Which style catches your eye? Let me know what you think or if you’ve experimented with foot rings in your work! If you’d like to dive deeper into these techniques in person, DM me “re
