CULTURAL Made from synthetic polymer paint on linen, Bennett depicts the similarities to representations of Aboriginal mimi spirits and privtivist figures. In the series, the faces drawn are from newspaper images such as Peter Garrett, politician, environmentalist and lead singer of politically active rock band Midnight Oil. The use of text speak of stereotypes fixed by assumptions about geography, class and race, appropriating and melding traditional and contemporary pictorial forms.
