I have been at HP Barcelona since 2003, focusing on all aspects of large format printing that either contribute to the final output's color or that the printing system's color resources impact. This has involved color calibration, color separation, color management, ink use efficiency, spot color processing, color enhancement, color sensors and UI/UX, facilitated by the use of psychometric/psychophysical methods, computational modeling of color vision and color formation and a close understanding of customer needs and aspirations. Since 2011 I have also served as the CIE's Division 8 director and I am actively involved both in patenting color and imaging IP and in publishing papers at industrial and academic conferences. Prior to my current position at HP I lectured Digital Color Reproduction at the University of Derby's Color & Imaging Institute. During my career I have both lead teams and worked as an individual contributor and I continue enjoying both. I bring both analytical and inventive skills to the table and have delivered both quick fixes and deep, long-term platform changes over the last years.
