Individual experiences are reported along with specific historical events and specific journal contents.FindingsThe paper provides information about the history of the journal and its founding, indicating the difficulties and managerial skills necessary to accomplish such a task. This study analyzed variables affecting the Country of Origin effect (COO) and its influence on i... more This study analyzed variables affecting the Country of Origin effect (COO) and its influence on intention to purchase across different categories of products. Extensive research on country-of-origin suggests it is pervasive, yet there is substantial variation across products and cultures. Due to these differences, we developed a model to test the effect of country-of-origin on four different types of products within two specific countries: Mexico and Chile. Overall, the results indicated that susceptibility to normative influences, cosmopolitanism, education and income, are all indicators of country-of-origin. It was also found that the country-of-origin effect differs between luxury and utilitarian products, as well as between publicly and privately consumed products. Digital communication increases students learning outcomes in higher education. Web 2.0 technolog... more Digital communication increases students learning outcomes in higher education. Web 2.0 technologies encourages students active engagement, collaboration, and participation in class activities, facilitates group work, and encourages information sharing among students. Familiarity with organizational use and sharing in social networks aids students who are expected to be facile in these technologies upon graduation (Benson, Filippaios, and Morgan, 2010). Faculty members become coaches, monitoring and providing feedback to students rather than directing activities. While Web 2.0 technologies, including social networks, may act as a distraction in a teaching environment, our findings suggest that effective social networking in learning environments sustain quality instruction and skills-development in business education.

Various Internet technologies, mostly the Web, have been implemented to offer online goods and services. EXTENDED ABSTRACT -Why do consumers sacrifice long-term goals, and face possible ridicule, rather... more EXTENDED ABSTRACT -Why do consumers sacrifice long-term goals, and face possible ridicule, rather than control their hedonistic inclinations? For instance, they eat too much of the Awrong@ foods, spend money too freely, pile on too much credit card debt, would rather visit with friends than work or study, and prefer watching mindless television to reading, attending cultural events, or exercising. In these cases, consumers satisfy short-term hedonic goals, at the expense of long-term benefits, such as more money and a leaner, healthier body and mind. Situating this study within the context of food consumption clarifies consumer choice surrounding these behaviors.
